Pokemon GO has announced a new event that will mark the debut of Dudunsparce in the game. Additionally, the developer of Pokemon GO has revealed the bonuses for the event along with other details, and fans of a popular monster from the Kanto region are sure to be pleased.

Dudunsparce is a critter that was introduced in Gen 9 with an unusual history. It all starts in Gen 2 with the release of Pokemon Gold and Silver, which introduced Dunsparce, a monster that spent years without an evolution. When it did come, it wasn't what players imagined — something similar to Magikarp turning into Gyarados. Instead, Game Freak introduced Dudunsparce, a Pokemon with a useless hidden ability and a design that can easily be confused with its previous form. Now, after debuting in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Dudunsparce is on its way to Pokemon GO.

Pokemon GO Announces Event Focused on Normal-Type Monsters

Pokemon GO has announced the Completely Normal event, which will start on Tuesday, September 23, and end on Saturday, September 27. This event will add Dudunsparce to Niantic's game, and it will be available through evolution. As such, trainers will need 50 Dunsparce Candy to evolve their Dunsparce into Dudunsparce. For Ditto fans, starting with this event, the Gen 1 Pokemon will change into different critters in the wild, which will continue after September 27. In addition, wild Shiny Ditto and Dunsparce will have a higher chance of appearing.

The event will give double XP to Pokemon GO players who evolve their monsters, and twice as much Candy when hatching eggs. The spawn rate of Normal-type monsters will be increased, with Sentret, Dunsparce, Buneary, and Audino among the creatures players will see more often. A $1.99 Timed Research will reward players with XP, Lucky Eggs, and encounters with Dunsparce, and the in-game store will release a new avatar item, the Dunsparce onesie. Niantic will release new Field Research tasks and Collection Challenges, and the Pokemon GO Web Store will sell a $1.99 box containing an event ticket and five Ultra Balls.

Although it only began on September 2, the calendar for the first month of the current Pokemon GO season is already filled with various activities to keep players engaged. After the Kanto Celebration and Mega Sharpedo Raid Day, the Pokemon Concierge Celebration will begin on September 9, while Flabebe Community Day will be on September 14. Indeedee will debut in Pokemon GO on September 16 at the start of the Psychic Spectacular: Taken Over event.
