Pokemon GO has announced the debuts of Varoom and Revavroom in an upcoming event, Taken Treasures. Pokemon GO has started its eighth year with exciting content to keep players engaged.
For example, Dusk Form Lycanroc debuted in one of the first Pokemon GO events of the year. Niantic then added shiny Cutiefly to Pokemon GO and revealed that Annihilape is coming to the game. Another big announcement was that Origin Forme Dialga and Palkia will debut in Pokemon GO. While Pokemon GO's Pokedex continues to grow, some generations still have critters to be added. That's the case with Paldea, which still doesn't have all the Pokemon available in Pokemon GO. But a new event will soon bring two Scarlet and Violet Pokemon for Pokemon GO players.
Pokemon GO announced the debuts of Varoom and Revavroom in Taken Treasures, a new Team GO Rocket event that starts on January 27 at 12 am and ends on February 1 at 11:59 am local time. During this period, trainers can find Varoom in 12 km eggs and evolve it using 50 Varoom Candy. Shadow Ho-Oh will be available in five-star Shadow Raids between January 27 and 28 from 6 am to 10 pm local time, and for the first time, trainers can encounter shiny Shadow Ho-Oh. Pokemon GO players will battle Giovanni and his Shadow Kyogre, and unlock the last part of the Seasonal Special Research story. During the event, trainers will see Team GO Rocket more often and help Shadow Pokemon forget the Charged Attack Frustration using Charged TM.
Pokemon GO Taken Treasures Event

Corphish, Snorunt, Chimchar, Piplup, Croagunk, Dwebble, and Ferroseed will appear more often when battling Team GO Rocket grunts and their leaders. One-star raids will feature Alolan Rattata, Meowth, Grimer, and Galarian Zigzagoon, and five-star raids will feature Weezing, Galarian Weezing, Tyranitar, and Bombirdier. One-star shadow raids will feature Shadow Alolan Sandshrew, Murkrow, Pineco, and Croagunk, while three-star raids will feature Shadow Scyther, Skarmory, and Golett. Field Research tasks will reward Charged TMs and Fast TMs, and encounters with 12 different Pokemon such as Paldean Wooper and Hisuian Qwilfish. The Taken Treasures event will also launch two new bundles and a Paid Timed Research.
The appearance of Team GO Rocket is an exciting moment for Pokemon GO players, who can battle the villains to catch Shadow Pokemon. The return of Team GO Rocket in 2024 is particularly interesting, as it brings with them two Pokemon from the latest generation. Another highlight is the debut of shiny Shadow Ho-Oh, which, for players lucky enough to catch it, will have a powerful variant of the Gen 2 Pokemon on their records.
