Niantic has announced some new Pokemon that will be featured in Pokemon GO's Wild Area event, including a Snorlax clad in a studded jacket and both Pikachu Pop Star and Rock Star. While Pikachu Pop Star and Rock Star were available in Pokemon GO in the past, this is the first time that players will be able to catch this particular costumed Snorlax in the game.
With the start of the Max Out season in Pokemon GO this September, there has been a constant influx of new events in the mobile game. Whether it's events focused around the newly added Dynamax feature or some exciting new Pokemon debuts, it's been a particularly exciting season for fans so far. Another Pokemon GO event is on the way next month, and it will be adding some additional Pokemon variants to the long-running title.
Niantic recently announced more exciting details about the Pokemon GO Wild Area event, revealing a few more Pokemon that players can catch exclusively during the event. The first is a costumed Snorlax, which will be making its debut in Pokemon GO. The special Snorlax wears a black studded jacket and can be caught in the wild during the Pokemon GO Wild Area: Fukuoka event. Players participating in the Global event will be able to find this particular Snorlax in 3-star raids instead. Additionally, fans will also have a chance to get a shiny version if they're lucky.

Apart from that, Pikachu Pop Star and Rock Star will also be returning to Pokemon GO as part of the event. These Pikachu variants were last available during GO Fest 2021, and fans have been requesting their return ever since. Pop Star and Rock Star Pikachu will also be available in their shiny forms for the first time during the event. As far as the odds are concerned, players will need quite a bit of luck to catch these musical Pokemon, as there will be a 1 in 512 chance of getting a shiny Pop Star or Rock Star Pikachu in Pokemon GO. The Pikachu variants can be encountered via Special Research, Collection Challenges, or through the GO Snapshot mechanic.
While many are eager to catch these new creatures, some aren't happy with the disparity between the studded jacket Snorlax's availability in both events. Players taking part in the Global event would have preferred the special Snorlax to be available in the wild as well, but it seems like they'll need to take part in difficult 3-star raids in Pokemon GO instead. Additionally, the fact that Pop Star and Rock Star Pikachu are exclusive encounters for Wild Area ticket holders has left many players disappointed. The Pokemon GO Wild Area event will be held on November 23 and 24, 2024.
