Reddit user dpouris posted on the main Pokemon GO subreddit after successfully finding and catching a Shiny Mesprit. According to the fan, they were taking a walk and just happened to look at the app when they noticed that the silhouette of a Mesprit was appearing on the Nearby Screen at a local landmark. The player dropped everything and ran towards it, with their luck multiplying even further when they found that the rare spawn was a Shiny. Dpouris successfully caught the Pokemon, filling in a slot of their Pokedex in the process.
Finding Mesprit in Pokemon GO is No Easy Feat
Most Legendary Pokemon are tough to find in Pokemon GO, but for many players, Mesprit is even more rare. To start, Mesprit's spawn and raids are limited to Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India. In other words, those in North and South America are left out of being able to find one without traveling or trading. However, most players would likely recommend trying to get Mesprit through raids, not wild encounters. Finding it on the map at all is reportedly extremely rare, and it has a very low catch rate, too. That, combined with the Shiny factor, makes dpouris' find outrageously lucky and rare.
