Summary
- Kanto Pokemon are dominating spawns in Pokemon GO, frustrating fans.
- However, Some players find the abundance of Kanto spawns helpful for specific medals.
- Lagging issues in GO Battle League and raids are also affecting gameplay.
Pokemon GO fans are unhappy about the Pokemon spawning in the game currently, as the Kantonian Pokemon seem to be dominating the spawn pool. The abundance of Generation 1 Pokemon from the Kanto region in Pokemon GO is something fans have expressed their concerns about often, and while the new season alleviated the issues to some extent, it seems like things are back to square one.
The past few weeks have been a rollercoaster ride for Pokemon GO fans, as players had to deal with some extremely frustrating bugs in between the exciting events. In fact, a recent study also claimed that Pokemon GO was the buggiest popular game, which is not a great title to have. Amid that, one Pokemon GO user has summarized all the problems the fanbase has been facing lately.
In a new post on the Pokemon GO subreddit, user Foulmouth232 highlights the issues currently lingering in Pokemon GO. Stating that the game is currently in "shambles," the user figuratively emphasizes that Kanto Pokemon take up almost 50% of the spawns in the game. The fact that the issue has escalated to events as well, which are supposed to offer players a more diverse set of Pokemon, and the Kanto spawns are also mostly restricted to the same few recurring Pokemon is what makes things even worse.
Kanto Spawns Aren't The Only Thing Pokemon GO Fans Are Unhappy About
The Redditor also notes that players have been facing a lot of lagging issues in the GO Battle League after the biome update was released. In fact, Niantic even disabled the biome update for a tournament to improve the performance in the GO Battle League. Raids seem to be affected as well, as players are reportedly getting kicked out automatically. While the user also highlights the Poke Ball throwing glitch that has been occurring lately, that issue was recently fixed in a Pokemon GO update.
These are just a few of the various issues players have been facing, as numerous other smaller bugs keep surfacing from time to time. On the flip side, players have highlighted that the abundance of Kanto spawns ensures that they are able to get more Rattata and Magikarp for their tiny and big medals, respectively. The medals in question are actually Fisher and Youngster. Fisher requires players to catch 1,000 Magikarp for the Platinum, but they need to be 13.13kg or heavier. On the other hand, Youngster requires the same count of Rattatas instead, but their weight should be 2.41kg or lighter. The sheer number of Pokemon players need to catch is what makes these two medals extremely hard to get in Pokemon GO. With some more interesting events slated to take place pretty soon, it remains to be seen whether Niantic switches up the in-game spawns.
