On Reddit, a French user named tyranosaure created a digital painting of Magikarp and Gyarados and posted his work across social media and the Gaming subreddit. Some of the OP's previous work included an incredible painting based on The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. According to the OP, he used ClipStudio Paint as one of the main programs for this digital art piece and said that he drew inspiration from studying Mayan murals in the past, and from past fan art of the aquatic Pokemon. Starting with one of his old drawings as the main outline, tyranosaure loaded up his programs and re-created Magikarp and Gyarados into a digital format. Both of the Pokemon faced left, with various waves and cacti surrounding them in the artwork. Some elaborate, circular patterns were added to Gyarados' back and its half-shut eyelid. The OP used a canvas texture to make the final artwork have a dusty appearance.

For his work, tyranosaure's depiction of Magikarp and Gyarados received over 28K upvotes on Reddit in under a day. In the comments, Pokemon trainers widely praised the OP for his efforts in bringing one of the most-liked Fish Pokemon to life in a new way. In the top comment, tyranosaure stated that he also painted the Shiny versions of Magikarp and Gyarados in the same style as the original work.

Though amazing fan art of Gyarados has been done by Pokemon fans before, that has not stopped artists from taking up their tools and making something new each day. With the upcoming Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC right around the corner, only time will tell what fans will create next.
