A Pokemon fan has shared their concept of what Klefki might look like if it had a human form. It's one of the latest instances of a Pokemon gijinka, which have become a popular way of celebrating Pokemon with fanart.
The line between Pokemon and people in the franchise has always been a little bit blurry. From the get-go, there were Pokemon with Pokedex listings hinting at them having previously been human, and some myths in the game have implied that Pokemon and humans share ancestry. This has likely helped to get the creative minds of fans thinking, and has led to a lot of fanart turning Pokemon into people.
Pokemon is Releasing Life-Size Plushes of Every Eeveelution
The Pokemon Company shows off a first look at an adorable line of life-sized plushes based on each of the franchise's Eeveelutions.
Now, a Pokemon artist called mom0ku has shared their idea of what a human Klefki would look like. Klefki has taken the form of a young human girl, with the human Klefki maintaining the pink orb on its head, and the pink orb dangling from the base being replaced by two large earrings with a matching design. The keychain that makes up most of Klefki's design has turned into a large metal hoop skirt, while the keys hang from a chain around Klefki's waist. The character is also pictured with one giant key, which it might use as a weapon, and the artist included a rendition of the Pokemon-turned-human in its Shiny form, too.
Pokemon Fans Like Human Klefki
Numerous fans of the game have shared their praise for the fanart and concept, with many saying that they especially like it because they feel Klefki doesn't get enough attention. One fan thought that the human version of the Pokemon looked like a magical girl, while others have talked about game projects that utilize Pokemon gijinka. The artist mentions that they've done their best to emulate the artstyle of the games. While a human Klefki would likely never appear in an official game, it's not hard to imagine a Klefki-obsessed NPC Pokemon trainer might look something like this.
While most Pokemon don't have - and probably never will have - human forms, the series has played with the idea of it in the past. In some instances, Latias has been capable of transforming with a human disguise. Despite the lack of official humanoid forms for most Pokemon, the fanart concept has really taken off. Some Pokemon/human conversions are simpler, with designs based off of some of the bipedal and nearly humanoid Pokemon to begin with. However, gijinka that change abstract Pokemon designs or Pokemon based on objects into humans are particularly popular in the community for the unique ways they creatively transform a Pokemon's original design.
