Summary

  • Flygon may not receive a Mega Evolution in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, according to rumors.
  • Recent leaks hint at Mega Evolutions for Victreebel, Chandelure, Dragonite, Excadrill, and Starmie in the game.

A rumor suggests Flygon may not get a Mega Evolution in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Since its announcement in February 2024, Pokemon Legends: Z-A has had players talking. After all, the game will mark the return of Mega Evolutions, and Pokemon fans are eager to see which pocket monsters will finally receive a new form.

Flygon is a Gen 3 Pokemon with features reminiscent of an insectoid and a dragon. The critter is one of the monsters that was supposed to receive a Mega Evolution with the release of Pokemon X and Y. However, plans fell through due to a creative block by Ken Sugimori, the official illustrator of the artwork for the Pokemon games. Over the years, players have been showing what it would be like if Mega Flygon existed while waiting for an official announcement from Game Freak. However, a new rumor may indicate bad news.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A's Chikorita may end up determining the fate of both Emboar and Feraligatr, and not necessarily for the best.

According to Centro Leaks, Flygon will not have a Mega Evolution in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. They published a humorous image about the rumor, and players reacted sadly. Some expressed fear that Flygon may be left without a Mega Evolution yet again, with one player saying they won't buy Pokemon Legends: Z-A if the information turns out to be true. In a humorous and hopeful tone, other replies suggested that Mega Flygon could appear in a future DLC. Another fan pointed out that only 25 of the 27 Megas are known, keeping hope that one of the two unleaked forms is of the Ground/Dragon-type.

Rumor Suggests Flygon May Again Be Without a Mega Evolution

While fans don't know what Flygon's fate will be in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, recent leaks have hinted at what players can expect from the game. One datamine revealed that, to the surprise of fans, Victreebel may receive a Mega Evolution. A few days later, another leak was shared, teasing that Mega Chandelure, Dragonite, Excadrill, and Starmie would be in the game. Meanwhile, Game Freak confirmed that 18 Mega Evolutions will be back in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, including the fan-favorites Mega Charizard, Lucario, Gardevoir, and Gallade.

In addition to the leaked and announced Mega Evolutions, players already know quite a bit about Pokemon Legends: Z-A. One of the most striking aspects is the change in how catching Pokemon works, allowing players to catch fainted monsters just like in the anime. With Pokemon Legends: Z-A scheduled for release this year, players expect to learn even more about the game in the coming months, including the full list of Mega Evolutions.

CATCH, BATTLE, AND MEGA-EVOLVE—ALL IN REAL TIME!
Step onto the battlefield and command your Pokémon directly—there are no turns! Be strategic and complete bonus card challenges as you battle to speed up your climb from Rank Z to Rank A. Can you climb the ranks and reach the top?
