Pokemon Legends Z-A has added the popular Dragon-type Goomy (and its evolutions) to its roster, so trainers now want to know how to catch it and evolve it. This strange combination between sea slug and dragon was inspired by a mythical beast from the French folklore, so it makes sense that it has made Lumiose City its new habitat.

Where to Find Goomy in Pokemon Legends Z-A

Goomy is a Pokemon that has a special spawn condition, so it's no wonder players haven't seen it often in Pokemon Legends Z-A. It only spawns during Rainy Weather, and it does so in a few secluded areas that we will mention next:

Jaune District - Saison Canalside, south of Justice Dojo (Below the Bridge)
Lumiose Sewers - Access Through Vert District after completing Side Mission 57 (The Camerupt Entrepreneur)
Lumiose Sewers - Access Through Magenta District (unlocked after completing Main Story Mission 20 (A Request from the Rust Syndicate)
Vert Sector 4 - Vert District, near the Cafe Classe Rooftop, next to the Fountain
Vert Sector 8 Rooftop, near the Hotel
Pier in Saison Canal (Next to the Binacle Boat Side Quest)

Both the Jaune and Vert District spawns have a chance to be Alpha Goomy, which considerably increases its Size Category and makes it look imposing when evolved into Goodra.

Players can 'Spend Time' sitting on a bench for several days until the weather changes into Rain.

How to Evolve Goomy in Pokemon Legends Z-A

How to evolve Goomy into Sliggoo and then Goodra in Pokemon Legends Z-A

To evolve Goomy into Sliggoo in Pokemon Legends Z-A, players need to take their Goomy to level 40 and select it on the Part Menu (X), then hit 'Evolve' over Goomy's thumbnail. Once it evolves into Sliggo, players need to level it up to 50, and wait for a Rainy Day using the Bench trick, or, they can force weather to become rainy by starting Secondary Mission 64 'Let it Rain, Let it Pour.'

This Secondary Mission can be started after players complete Main Mission 20, and it will appear in the Rouge Sector 7 Battle Court (as many of these Pokemon Battle Missions are scattered across Lumiose). Cielestine is the NPC players need to talk to, and then select the option 'Wait until it rains.' After the battle is over, if their Sliggoo is level 50, they will be able to evolve it into Goodra.

Goodra is a decent Pokemon to have in the late game, with a Base Stat Total of 600 (quite close to Dragonite and other Pseudo-Legendaries). It has a great move pool focused on coverage, with attacks like Surf and Power Whip. It would be a decent addition to a balanced lineup.

Misty Weather doesn't seem to be working to evolve Sliggoo into Goodra at the moment. On the other hand, it is not possible to get Hisuian Goodra in Pokemon Legends Z-A, as most regional forms are locked.
