Snorunt is one of the few Pokemon with a split evolution line and two Mega Evolutions to boot. With Mega Froslass joining the roster of new Megas introduced in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Catching and training Snorunt is a must for every Trainer who wishes to get a decent Ice-Type Pokemon for their lineup.
Whether trainers wish to have Glalie or Froslass (and their respective Mega Evolutions) in their teams, they will find all the information on how to catch, train, and evolve Snorunt in this guide.
How to Find Snorunt in Pokemon Legends: Z-A
Snorunt is one of those Pokemon that trainers would not want to miss in Pokemon Legends Z-A, and if they want to add one to their team, traveling to Wild Zone 12 is what they must do. This area with Ice-type Wild Pokemon becomes available after beating Canari and reaching E-Rank, during Main Mission 14.
If players catch a Female Snorunt, it will eventually evolve into Froslass, and if they catch a Male Snorunt, it will evolve into Glalie. To complete the Pokedex in Legends Z-A, players need both, so even if they are not going to train them, they should pick one from each gender.
How to Evolve Snorunt in Pokemon Legends Z-A
As mentioned before, Snorunt has split evolution lines depending on its gender (like
Kirlia, which can evolve into
Gardevoir/
Gallade), and to get Snorunt to evolve into Glalie, players need to simply make it reach level 42, then open the menu (X) and hit Evolve over Snorunt's thumbnail.
Now, for the Female Snorunt to evolve into Froslass, players need to get a special evolution stone called Dawn Stone, which can be easily obtained at the Stone Emporium in Lumiose, or, if players are lucky, found lying around while exploring.

But that's not the end of the line for either Glalie or Froslass, which have yet another power boost thanks to Mega Evolution. Players can find the Mega Stone needed to evolve Glalie into Mega Glalie called Glalitite by completing Main Mission 10, and then purchasing the stone for 240 Mega Shards at Quasartico INC.
Now, for the Froslastite needed to evolve Froslass into Mega Froslass, players need to complete Main Mission Nº27: A Rogue Mega Froslass, and after beating this Pokemon in battle, they will receive the Mega Stone.
Glalie is a decent pure Ice-type Pokemon altogether, with a BST of 480 evenly distributed (which is extremely rare to find in any Pokemon) and when evolving into Mega Glalie, this BST turns into 580, but it becomes focused on Glalie's Speed, Special Attack, and Attack, turning it into a decent Hybrid Ice-type attacker.
Froslass, on the other hand, is an Ice/Ghost-type, a unique combination among all the possible choices for trainers in Pokemon Legends Z-A. It has the same BST as Glalie (480), but its distribution is slightly different, having less HP, Def, and Sp. Def, but more Speed.
The same pattern repeats when Froslass Mega Evolves, raising only three of its Base Stat values (Sp. Atk: 80 → 140, Sp. Def 70 → 100, Speed 110 → 120), reaching a BST of 580. These increased values turn Mega Froslass into the definitive choice for players wanting a decent Ice-type attacker, which can also gain an advantage against Fighting-type thanks to its Ghost sub-typing.
