However, Rare Candies aren’t easily obtained in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. These powerful items are hidden rewards found through specific side quests, exploration opportunities, and special encounters scattered across the region. This guide breaks down exactly where players can find them, when they become available, and the most efficient ways to collect them. How to Get Rare Candy in Pokemon Legends: Z-A

Pokemon Legends Z-A How to Find Rare Candy

Rare Candies in Pokémon Legends: Z-A remain one of the most valuable tools for players aiming to level up quickly without spending hours grinding in Wild Zones. These items are primarily earned through specific side missions or discovered hidden throughout the expanded world of Lumiose City. While they aren’t as common as standard experience items, one strategic use of Rare Candy can make a huge difference when tackling the tougher content.

Several side missions reward Rare Candies upon completion, including the following:

Rare Candies can also be found scattered across Lumiose City as item pick-ups—often hidden as glowing sparkles or in Poke Ball pickups on rooftops or in alleyways—so players should remain vigilant as they explore. Several pathways are blocked with environmental walls like rocks, purple goo, and other crystals that can be knocked down with Pokemon moves.

You can use our in-progress interactive map above to find some Rare Candy locations.

Players can also level up their Pokemon with EXP Candies. These experience-giving nuggets come in XS, S, M, L, and XL. They are found all over Lumiose City as sparkles and rewards for winning Pokemon battles. Early in the game, S and M EXP Candies go a long way. These can often be picked up by defeating Alpha Pokemon.

Pokemon Legends Z-A Red Canari Plush

Canari's Plushes are dolls that, once bought, give players several boosts in stats. Players can upgrade them using Colorful Screws to increase their benefits. Canari's Red Plush grants players boosts to their EXP gain at the following levels:

  • Level One (3 Colorful Screws): +5% Exp earned
  • Level Two (5 Colorful Screws): +10% Exp earned
  • Level Three (8 Colorful Screws): +15% Exp earned

Players recieve the Red Plush Doll during one of the early Main Missions. Combining smart resource management with targeted exploration ensures that every Rare Candy finds its best use—helping build a stronger, more balanced team ready for anything Kalos has to offer.
