A Pokemon Legends: Z-A has found several unused animations for Mable within the game's files, potentially part of either cut content or a planned future update to the game. The successor to 2022's Pokemon Legends: Arceus provided a big shake-up from the franchise's standard formula, implementing plenty of major changes with the newest entry. Pokemon Legends: Z-A not only centralized its setting to focus entirely on Lumiose City, but also introduced real-time Pokemon battles for the first time in a main-series game. One particular highlight for many fans, however, was its diverse and unique cast of characters.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A introduced a wide variety of different cast members for players to get to know throughout the game, featuring both new and returning characters. Fans are quickly brought into the fold of Team MZ at the outset of the game, meeting either Taunie or Urbain and being introduced to Lida and Naveen shortly after. Legends Z-A brings back one of Pokemon X and Y's most enigmatic characters in AZ as the owner of Hotel Z, while other side characters like Mable and Emma take leading roles. Now, one fan has discovered some unused animations for Mable.

Popular Pokemon YouTuber and dataminer Lewtwo shared their discovery of some unused animations via their official Twitter account. The unused content features two separate animations of Pokemon Legends: Z-A's "professor" Mable, showing her striking both a victorious fist pump pose and also a hearty laugh. Both animations also feature Mable's tablet-style Rotom reacting to her movements, floating above her in the first animation and shaking with her laughter in the second. The post does not make it clear how the animations could have been used in-game.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A Fan Shares Unused Mable Animations
The unused animations for Mable have seen plenty of speculation from fans and Lewtwo about how they could have been implemented. Some fans have suggested the animations could potentially be used for legendary encounters, though the animations notably do not appear anywhere in Z-A's post-game content. Others have posited that the animations may be planned for a future update, potentially including Mable as a post-game opponent. Lewtwo also shares that Legends: Z-A's in-game files similarly include several other animations for different characters that do not appear to be used anywhere in the game.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A's litany of unused animations could potentially be hinting at something fans are already expecting from the game. Game Freak has already confirmed that Pokemon Legends: Z-A will be receiving DLC following its release, hinting at Mega Raichu as a starring Mega Evolution within the expansion. The "Mega Dimension" DLC is also said to include new story content for Legends: Z-A, reportedly centered around Mythical Pokemon Hoopa. Pokemon Legends: Z-A's story looks to be far from over with some exciting new content coming in the near future.
