It's become something of a tradition for modern Pokemon games to ask players about their birthday, and Pokemon Legends: Z-A is no different. If players visit a Pokemon Center after meeting up with Emma in the "The City in the Shadow of Prism Tower" main story mission, they'll be given a chance to input the day and month of their birth.
Which Pokemon Legends Z-A Starter Pokemon Should You Choose? (Chikorita, Totodile, or Tepig?)
Although they all have their strengths and weaknesses, there's a fairly obvious choice when it comes to the best Pokemon Legends: Z-A starter Pokemon.
Like in previous games, Pokemon Legends: Z-A doesn't allow players to change their birthday after confirming it, so you should be sure not to make any mistakes. That said, the reward for playing Pokemon Legends: Z-A on your birthday is fairly mediocre, so even if you do somehow mess it up, you're not really going to be missing out on much.
What Happens If You Play Pokemon Legends: Z-A on Your Birthday?
If players visit a Pokemon Center on their birthday, the Pokemon Center nurse will wish them a happy birthday in French, and some confetti will fall from above. Sadly, they won't get any items or anything like that, nor will they be able to retrigger the birthday message by speaking with the nurse again. They can relive the moment by changing the date on their Switch or Switch 2, but given its lackluster nature, this hardly seems worth the time.
How Does the Pokemon Legends: Z-A Birthday Message Compare to Other Pokemon Games?
The birthday message in Pokemon Legends: Z-A is not too different from the one found in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, although the Paldean birthday message is arguably a bit more vibrant than the one players get in Lumiose City. Of course, neither offers any kind of actual rewards, so it's not like you're being short-changed when playing Pokemon Legends: Z-A on your birthday (or the date you type in when asked about your birthday).
