After agreeing to help Emma with some investigation cases, players will find a few side missions popping up on their map in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. One of these side missions is "A Big Ol' Bunnelby," where a concerned Lumiose City resident named Travelle tells you that he has found an ultra-sized Bunnelby roaming the streets nearby.

Since the giant Bunnelby is not confined to any Wild Zones, he fears that the Pokemon may wreak havoc on the city if not handled correctly. This guide covers where to find the Bunnelby as well as how to defeat it.

Upon talking to Travelle about the giant Bunnelby, he will ask you to follow him to a secluded alleyway where he encountered the Pokemon roaming about before running off. To find the exact location where you need to meet up with Travelle, you'll need to turn on guidance mode for the mission. Doing so will create a quest marker on the map to follow.

Players are prompted to use guidance mode upon the quest's start, but if you missed the opportunity, you can do so later by pressing X on the map screen to open the list of missions, then using R to switch to the Side Missions tab. Here, you can turn on guidance for the "Big Ol' Bunnelby" quest by pressing A.

Follow the quest marker to Travelle's location, and talk to him to trigger a boss fight with the giant Bunnelby.

How to Defeat the Alpha Bunnelby in Pokemon Legends: Z-A

The giant Bunnelby is actually an Alpha Pokemon, which means it has a significantly higher health pool compared to a regular Bunnelby. Despite only being Level 10, it can easily wipe out the player's party if given half a chance. Additionally, it will regularly try to take out you, the trainer, whenever it gets the chance. Press the Y button to roll away from its attacks when it targets you. If you take too many hits, you'll white out.

As a pure Normal-type Pokemon, Bunnelby is weak to Fighting-type moves and immune to Ghost-type attacks. Its Defense and Special Defense are nearly equal, which means there is no clear winner in terms of the type of offense you can use against it. Additionally, it only knows Earth Power, Leer, and Tackle. So, if you use a Flying-type Pokemon, Tackle will be its only damaging move.

You can freely switch between Pokemon during the battle, so take advantage of that opportunity whenever it arises. Heal using Potions and Super Potions, but remember that you can only use one bag item at a time and there is a cooldown between uses.

If your party wipes on the giant Bunnelby, you'll be transported to a Pokemon Center, and you can resume the side mission at any time.

Once the Bunnelby is at low health, the chance to catch it will drastically increase, and you'll be able to throw a Poke Ball to catch it with a high possibility of success.
