One of the most efficient ways of leveling up a Pokemon quickly in Pokemon Legends: Z-A is by using the Lucky Egg, an item that doubles the EXP earned by the Pokemon holding it as long as the Pokemon is a part of the main party.

Trainers looking to level up their next main party member from a low level will be eager to find the Lucky Egg to make the process easier. While Rare Candies and EXP. Candies can achieve the same effect more quickly, they are in limited quantities, and using them in bulk is not always realistic.

How to Get Lucky Egg in Pokemon Legends: Z-A

The Lucky Egg can be obtained by completing Side Mission 109: Wondrous Self-Healing Pokemon in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Side Mission 109 only becomes available after players have completed Main Mission 37: Operation Protect Lumiose and have entered the post-game.

Once Lumiose City is saved from the outpouring of Mega Power from the Prism Tower with the help of Zygarde, Main Mission 38: The Infinite Z-A Royale will unlock, and multiple new Side Missions will appear across the city, including this one. Once it is unlocked, Side Mission 109 can be triggered at the Vert Pokemon Center, directly south of Wild Zone 17.

Talk to Pokemon Center Clerk Bien, who is standing behind the counter, to trigger the quest. She will challenge the trainer to an all-out battle against her team of self-healing Pokemon. Talk to her again after the challenge is issued and select "I want to battle you" to kick things off.

Bien's team consists of Heliolisk, Clefable, Roserade, and Avalugg. Defeat all four Pokemon to complete the mission.

  • Lucky Egg x1
  • Full Restore x5
  • Max Revive x2

None of Bien's Pokemon can Mega Evolve.

How to Use the Lucky Egg in Pokemon Legends: Z-A

Once you've obtained a Lucky Egg, it will be placed under “Other Items.” Here's how to use it.

  1. Place the Pokemon you want to level up quickly in your main party.
  2. Find the Lucky Egg under "Other Items" in your Satchel.
  3. Press A and choose "Give to Pokemon."
  4. Find the Pokemon you added to the main party and press A again to give it the Lucky Egg.

Now, as long as that Pokemon remains in your party with the Lucky Egg equipped as a Held Item, it will receive double the EXP for every battle. Even if the Pokemon itself does not participate in a battle, it will receive 2x shared experience just from being in the main party, resulting in almost the same experience as if it were the one to deal the final blow.

Lucky Egg does not increase the amount of EXP earned when using an EXP. Candy.
