A Pokemon fan artist recently took to social media to share a life-size Mewtwo costume they crafted, sharing pictures of how tall it is compared to other objects in their home. The Pokemon costume designer also stated which materials they used to craft the life-size Mewtwo costume, and other fans complimented them on their impressive handiwork and attention to detail.

Known as the Genetic Pokemon, Mewtwo is the most powerful creature in Pokemon Red and Blue. As a Psychic-type Pokemon that can be encountered in Kanto's Cerulean Cave, Mewtwo is considered a ruthless creation made to emulate Mew. While it lacks Mew's capability to learn every Pokemon move, Mewtwo's high special attack and speed stats make it a formidable foe for any Pokemon trainer to take down. In 2023, Mewtwo was featured as a Seven-Star Tera Raid boss in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The tough encounter encouraged trainers to use a special Mew that was being distributed to take on the ferocious Legendary monster.

While Mewtwo has been depicted in Pokemon fan art before, one trainer made an entire costume that was true to the Genetic Pokemon's size. On the r/Pokemon subreddit, a user named LuuMew2 shared pictures of their handmade life-size Mewtwo costume. The first picture showed Mewtwo making a pose with its left arm outstretched and right arm tucked closer to its body. In the post's reply section, LuuMew2 posted additional shots of the Mewtwo costume from the rear and the sides. According to the costume maker, Mewtwo was made from materials like urethane and cotton, with Lycra fabric applied on top. Another user asked the artist to make Mewtwo's armor next, though it remains to be seen whether or not they will do so.

The fabric was then dyed different shades of purple before being stitched together with the lower legs and the chest. Mewtwo's face had a menacing gaze, with its eyes facing forward. According to several Pokedex entries throughout the Pokemon franchise, Mewtwo stands at a formidable six feet and seven inches tall, or two meters. Compared to some 3D printed statues crafted in Mewtwo's image, the life-size costume of the Genetic Pokemon is taller by over two feet.

In response, Pokemon fans complimented LuuMew2 for their effort and praised how realistic the Mewtwo costume looked. Given that Mewtwo also has two Mega Evolution forms, it remains to be seen if the Genetic Pokemon will get a new Mega form in the upcoming Pokemon Legends: Z-A.
