A talented Pokemon fan recently designed a mega evolution for Heliolisk. The Pokemon fan's design not only recreated Heliolisk with a mega evolution, but also included an evolution for the shiny version of the Pokemon.
Pokemon fans have all sorts of creative talent when it comes to fan art for the series. When not recreating their favorite Pokemon in some art form or designing entirely new creatures, fans will often create different and unique forms of existing Pokemon. As Heliolisk is a single evolution Pokemon, evolving from Helioptile, it can be one of the many Pokemon chosen for this due to its lack of extra forms. As fan artists expand on the relatively limited forms it has, such as a recent future Paradox form of Heliolisk another Pokemon fan created, new designs are always popping up for the Gen 6 Pokemon. In a similar vein, one Pokemon fan has designed a mega evolution of Heliolisk, giving it an exciting new form.
Pokemon Fan Creates New Evolution for Furret
An imaginative Pokemon player comes up with an interesting new evolution for the Generation Two Normal-Type pocket monster Furret.
Shared on the Pokemon Legends: Z - A Reddit page, user Augus77 posted their mega evolution for Heliolisk. Like other mega evolution designs for Pokemon, the artist maintained the iconic aspects of Heliolisk, such as its reptilian form and bright color scheme, but added additional spikes up and down its back. Alongside this, the artist expanded Heliolisk's frill, making it a bit more intimidating. The included shiny variation offers a separate color scheme for Heliolisk, simply switching the dark orange and bright yellow portions of the creature.

The design was relatively well received among other Pokemon fans. One fan even added in a stat block for the design, sharing a new description for the mega evolution and turning Heliolisk into an Electric and Fire-type. This user also gave the mega evolution of Heliolisk a speed of 144, making it one of the fastest Pokemon and significantly quicker than its regular form.
While this version of Heliolisk currently doesn't exist in the game, all hope is not lost. With Pokemon Legends: Z - A confirming that mega evolutions are returning to Pokemon, players will once again get the chance to mega evolve some of their favorite Pokemon. The upcoming Pokemon game is also set to take place in the Kalos region, meaning that some Gen 6 Pokemon such as Heliolisk will be almost guaranteed to be in the game and will hopefully have the chance to be mega evolved and showcase some interesting new forms.
