Pokemon Fan Designs New Forms for Meloetta

A Pokemon fan created new forms for Meloetta and shared them with the community. Additional forms are a common feature of the Pokemon franchise, and there is no shortage of well-known pocket monsters that have one. A notable example is Unown, which has forms for each letter of the Latin alphabet as well as for question and exclamation marks.

Another critter with an additional form is Meloetta, the Mythical Pokemon introduced in the Gen 5 games. Although it does not evolve from or into any other creature, it has two variants. The Aria Forme is the best known and depicts Meloetta with hair resembling a musical sheet, and a headpiece in the shape of a treble clef to emphasize its love for singing. The Pirouette Form has auburn hair that also refers to Meloetta's connection to music, but its design strongly resembles a ballerina. Showing great creativity, a Pokemon fan revealed what it would be like if Meloetta had other forms.

On the Fakemon subreddit, user SayuriKoopa shared five new forms for Meloetta. The first is called Band Form, an Electric-type Pokemon that uses its hair as a guitar to play melodies. Idol Form is an adorable Fairy-type that wears two ponytails and a black and blue dress, and Street Form is a Fighting-type that carries a leek similar to what Farfetch'd has. Meloetta Musical Form is a Fire-type that wears a white and pink outfit, and the Underground Form has long gray and blue hair covering one eye, giving this Ghost-type a brooding appearance.

According to the OP, the designs were inspired by Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage!, a game released by SEGA for Android and iOS devices in 2021. In addition to the impressive makeovers, they added interesting facts for each variant, such as Band Form being born from bittersweet memories. Idol Form is born from uplifting thoughts and has a voice that gives hope to listeners. Meloetta Street Form cheers up those who are feeling down, while Musical Form dances and throws fireballs everywhere when it gets excited. Underground Form is a guide for spirits to the afterlife with gentle melodies.

This isn't the first time a Pokemon fan has shown their love for the iconic Vocaloid character, with another fan giving Mimikyu a Hatsune Miku disguise. The designs created by SayuriKoopa make Meloetta even more adorable, giving it new forms based on clever references. The result is incredible artwork that showcases the potential that the concept of additional forms still has to be explored.
