Pokemon has officially revealed its newest life-size plush available for purchase, with iconic classic Pokemon Porygon being given the full-sized plush treatment. Since the debut of the beloved monster-catching franchise in the late 1990s, the series has produced a wide variety of merchandise across multiple different mediums for fans to collect and enjoy. Aside from staples like the video games and trading card game, Pokemon has produced plenty of plushes, toys, apparel, and more featuring its recognizable creatures. Now, a beloved member of the original cast is getting its own plush.

Porygon has remained one of the most iconic and memorable creatures the franchise has produced since its debut in Pokemon Red and Blue. Porygon's futuristic machine-like design made it a rarity in early games, typically only available through special in-game means like the Game Corner or as a gift from NPCs. Porygon also has a notorious role in the Pokemon anime, with its one starring role coming in a famous banned episode of the original Pokemon series. Now, fans are getting the chance to have their own giant plush of the Virtual Pokemon.

Pokemon Reveals Life-Sized Porygon Plush

As reported by NintendoLife, The Pokemon Company has officially unveiled its newest life-size Pokemon plush, this time featuring Porygon. The plush measures just under a meter tall, scaled to its in-game size according to the Pokedex, retailing for 55,000 JPY, or roughly $391.20 USD. The unique piece of Porygon merchandise is currently only available through the Japanese Pokemon Center website, with no announcements made about an eventual global release. Pokemon Center Japan is currently taking reservations for the plush, with an official release date yet to be confirmed.

Porygon's new life-size plush comes as the creature has been no stranger to the franchise's new game entries, despite its controversial status in the anime. While Porygon has been quite elusive, the Pokemon has returned in every new generation of the game, often being a special gift from in-game characters. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet featured Porygon in-game through the "Hidden Treasure of Area Zero" DLC, with fans able to find Porygon in specific biomes within "The Indigo Disk."

Alongside its plethora of merchandise, Pokemon has made waves throughout recent months across its multiple branches. The Pokemon Company has been slowly drip-feeding fans with more information about the upcoming Pokemon Legends: Z-A, the follow-up to Pokemon Legends: Arceus set in the Kalos region. The TCG also has several projects in development, including Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket as a new faster way to play the beloved card game on mobile devices. Pokemon fans should have plenty to look forward to throughout the coming months with a multitude of projects in the works.
