A fan of the Pokemon series carved Nidoran out of wood and is working on also creating the pocket monster's evolutions. Game Freak's RPG franchise has been inspiring gamers to let out their artistic sides for quite some time and has led to some amazing bits of artwork. Pokemon players are constantly showing just how talented they are on a daily basis.
The Nidoran evolutionary line in Pokemon was introduced in the first Generation of the series. It was one of the first pocket monsters to have a gender, as the mechanic was not introduced until the second Generation of the franchise. Nidoran is one of the few Pokemon to reach its final evolution, Nidoking, through the use of a Moon Stone.
Pokemon Artist Spends 600 Hours Painting Impressive Mural
A Pokemon fan paints an incredible mural that features over 50 pocket monsters and characters from nine generations of the series.
A Reddit user named pfelves shared images of some Pokemon art that they are currently working on: wood carvings of Nidoran and Nidorino, which are being made from hard maple. According to pfelves, the horn on Nidorino was at a weird angle, which led to the artist cutting it off. However, they did say that they will be applying a new one in its place. Though they are not finished yet, the wood carvings already look great and feature a good amount of detail.
Artist Makes Impressive Wood Statues of Nidoran and Nidorino
Pfelves shared some other details about their project on the post that they made. When asked how long it has taken them to get to the point they are at with the pieces, the artist stated that they are bad at estimating time, but that they watched all of The Mandalorian while making the carvings. Pfelves also mentioned that they will be using a neutral-color varnish on the works as they want the natural colors of the wood to stand out. They also said that they will be making Nidoking when the Nidoran and Nidorino carvings are done, and they will base the piece on the spikey early artwork version of the creature. The Pokemon artwork that pfelves made is really impressive and looks great as natural wood carvings.
Pfelves is one of a number of artists to make wood-based artwork centered on Nintendo's creature catching series. Other talented fans have made wood carvings based on Pokemon, which has resulted in some impressive pieces. These include Pokeballs made from the material, as well as statues of various pocket monsters that gamers love. Hopefully pfelves will finish their Nidoran and Nidorino wood carvings soon and will be able to also produce a Nidoking that also looks great.
