Summary

  • Fans create unique Eeveelution concepts, like a Rock-type Quartzeon.
  • Eevee's enduring popularity keeps fans generating imaginative evolution ideas.
  • Other fan-made Eeveelutions include Jadeon, a Rock-type, and unique combinations like Rock/Water-type.

A Pokemon fan has shared their concept for a new evolution for Eevee, creating a Rock-type Eeveelution. It's one of the latest instances of fans coming up with their own ideas for new Eeveelutions in lieu of the Pokemon games actually adding one.

Eevee is still a popular Pokemon after all these years, with Eevee regularly featured on Pokemon merchandise and in media. Unfortunately, Eevee's design and unique evolution gimmick is so popular that it may be backfiring, as the Pokemon series has had difficulty designing and introducing a new Eevee form without a fan beating them to the punch with their own imagined design.

One Pokemon fan who has been sharing Eeveelution ideas is Patient-Ambition9826, who posted a new idea they had that evolves Eevee and results in a Rock-type Pokemon. They've dubbed their Pokemon Quartzeon, a fitting moniker given the reinvention the Pokemon has undergone. Quartzeon has tall ears with dangling crystal ornamentation hanging from them, a flat tail, and gemstones studding its body. Quartzeon's eyes also look like faceted gemstones, and it wears a small crown nestled between its ears. In terms of design similarities, Quartzeon bears a resemblance to Umbreon and Glaceon in particular, with a dark cat-like body and tall ears similar to Umbreon, and with the flat tail and the flaps on either side of its head like Glaceon.

If There's a Pokemon Typing, There's a Fan-Made Eeveelution For It

This is far from the first time that fans have demonstrated their creativity by producing a new Eeveelution based off an existing Pokemon typing. Another fan shared their own concept for what a Rock-type Eeveelution might look like, with the author giving it a name based off another gem, dubbing it Jadeon. Alternatively, one fan imagined what a Rock/Water-type combination might look like for Eevee, creating an underwater Eeveelution studded with coral. Meanwhile, Patient-Ambition9826 has also come up with additional Eeevee designs. Previously, the fan has showcased Flying-type, Dragon-type, and Egypt-themed Ghost-type Eeveelutions, which have all gained attention from fans.

Eevee's enduring popularity and its potential for evolution is likely to keep inspiring fans to produce new concepts for what Eevee could turn into. With so many fans generating unique and clever ideas, it may be difficult for the developers to come up with a new Eeveelution that hasn't already been thought up and shared by someone else. However, it's pretty obvious that Eevee fans are consistent in their fondness for the Pokemon, so even if it takes years for Eevee to get a new official evolution, it will still be exciting for the fanbase.
