Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players wasted no time developing and sharing strategies for easily taking down Serperior the Unrivaled, the latest Seven-Star Tera raid boss to appear in the games. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players crafted strategies with powerful critters like Delphox and Galarian Slowking, and showed how they took down Serperior in solo action.
Known as the Regal Pokemon, Serperior debuted in Pokemon Black and White. Serperior is the fully evolved form of Snivy and Servine. As a Grass-type Pokemon, Serperior's best statistics are its defense and special defense, but that is offset by its low attack and special attack stats. In the latest Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raid, Serperior the Unrivaled comes with a Hidden Ability called Contrary that causes moves like Leaf Storm to buff its stats rather than decrease them. Serperior the Unrivaled uses the moves Leaf Storm, Gastro Acid, Dragon Pulse, Iron Tail, Glare, Sweet Scent, and Breaking Swipe throughout the encounter.

As Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers assembled their teams to face Serperior the Unrivaled, players shared simple ways to best the Regal Pokemon. On the r/PokemonScarletViolet subreddit, users General_Secura92 and Kyele13 developed solo strategies that involved Delphox and Galarian Slowking and posted their recipes for success. Starting with General_Secura92's strategy, the Fire-type Pokemon they chose was Delphox, a popular Starter Pokemon from the Kalos region. Knowing that Contrary was the crux of Serperior's power, Delphox used the move Skill Swap to steal Contrary from Serperior and give the Regal Pokemon a less-useful ability like Blaze or Magician in exchange. With Contrary now on Delphox, General_Secura92 used Overheat and Terastallized to Fire. If Gastro Acid was used on Delphox to wipe out the swapped Contrary ability, General_Secura92 said other moves like Flamethrower, Nasty Plot, and Mystical Fire are useful backups.
Pokemon Like Delphox and Galarian Slowking Can Easily Solo Serperior
For Kyele13, their choice of Pokemon was Galarian Slowking, which first appeared in Pokemon Sword and Shield, namely The Crown Tundra DLC. Galarian Slowking had its HP and special attack effort values (EVs) maxed out, and its moves were Skill Swap, Slack Off, Sludge Wave, and Acid Spray. After using Skill Swap to steal Contrary, Kyele13 used Acid Spray three times and Terastallized before switching to Sludge Wave. Kyele13 said Slack Off was added as a safety option, and other users replied that moves like Venoshock and Sludge Bomb could work instead.
Both Delphox and Galarian Slowking held the Shell Bell, an essential item in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raids, to help recover HP. With various options available, only time will tell how many Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players will defeat Serperior the Unrivaled.
