On August 3, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet began the second Tera Raid battle against the Shiny Treasures of Ruin, as Shiny Chien-Pao became the main focus. Like the previous Tera Raid battle, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players must defeat Shiny Chien-Pao a collective one million times before it can be obtained as a Mystery Gift later in August.
Known as the Ruinous Pokemon, Chien-Pao is one of the four Treasures of Ruin from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Chien-Pao is considered a Dark and Ice dual-type monster and has the appearance of a snow leopard with large, sword-like fangs. The Shiny variant of Chien-Pao instead has a muddy brown coat, which makes it a sharp contrast from its usually snowy form. Chien-Pao is a Legendary Ice Pokemon that can carve through its foes with deadly precision, and it can use moves like Night Slash, Icicle Crash, and Ruination that take advantage of its high attack stats.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Players Can Battle Shiny Chien-Pao Until August 17
Following the Shiny Wo-Chien Tera raids, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players must now contend with the second member of the Shiny Treasures of Ruin. According to Serebii.net, Shiny Chien-Pao will appear in Five-Star Tera Raid dens until Sunday, August 17, at 7:59 PM Eastern. Ergo, Pokemon trainers will have two weeks to face it. Shiny Chien-Pao will have the Ice type as its Tera type, and will be set to level 75. Once the Tera raid battle begins, Shiny Chien-Pao will use Ruination and Haze in quick succession, followed by a shield that requires Terastallization to break easily. The Ruinous Pokemon will use Crunch, Ice Shard, Icicle Crash, and Sacred Sword for its standard attacks.
Despite its offensive firepower, Chien-Pao’s defenses are on the lower side, effectively rendering it a glass cannon. A team of Level 100 Fighting-type Pokemon like Zamazenta or Iron Hands will be useful in taking down Shiny Chien-Pao without a problem. Like Shiny Wo-Chien before it, Shiny Chien-Pao cannot be caught normally upon defeating it. Instead, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers must band together once again to defeat Shiny Chien-Pao a collective one million times before the August 17 deadline.
During the Shiny Wo-Chien Tera Raid period, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players were successful in their endeavors, as Shiny Wo-Chien was defeated over 3.5 million times collectively. Shiny Wo-Chien will be distributed via Mystery Gift starting Friday, August 8. Shiny Chien-Pao will be followed up by Shiny Ting-Lu on August 17, with Shiny Chi-Yu as the final challenger starting August 31.
