On August 31, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet kicked off the final Shiny Treasure of Ruin Tera Raid and Mass Outbreak events, as Shiny Chi-Yu is now available for trainers to battle. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players have until September 14 to take on Shiny Chi-Yu and find Mass Outbreaks of critters like Vulpix and Numel.
Known as the Ruinous Pokemon, Chi-Yu is a member of the Treasures of Ruin, the Paldea region's Legendary Pokemon quartet. Since the July 22 Pokemon Presents episode, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have hosted a Shiny Treasures of Ruin Tera Raid event that allowed trainers to battle Shiny variants of creatures like Ting-Lu in Five-Star raid battles. However, rather than catching the Shiny Legendary Pokemon outright, trainers had to take some additional steps. Once a Shiny Treasure of Ruin has been bested a collective one million times, it later becomes available as a Mystery Gift via Internet distribution until September 30.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Players Have One Final Treasure Of Ruin To Face
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers looking to take on Shiny Chi-Yu in a Tera Raid must be prepared. According to Serebii.net, Shiny Chi-Yu uses the moves Ruination, Heat Wave, Flamethrower, Snarl, and Dark Pulse throughout the battle. The Ruinous Pokemon will also put up a raid shield early in the battle, and then reset Tera Orb charges shortly after. Though Shiny Chi-Yu has high special attack and special defense stats, its reliance on special Dark and Fire attacks leaves it vulnerable to aquatic attacks. Given that Shiny Chi-Yu is set to level 75, powerful Water Pokemon like Azumarill, Kyogre, and Walking Wake should prove effective.
Like its predecessors, Shiny Chi-Yu cannot be caught after a Tera raid battle. Instead, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers must defeat Shiny Chi-Yu a collective one million times for it to be available via a Mystery Gift distribution event later in September. Alongside the Shiny Chi-Yu Tera raid event, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are hosting a Mass Outbreak event featuring Charcadet, Vulpix, and Numel. Waves of these Fire-type Pokemon will appear throughout Paldea, Kitakami, and the Terarium, respectively. Additionally, the featured Fire-type Pokemon have increased Shiny encounter odds. Both events are active until 8:00 PM Eastern on Sunday, September 14.
While the Mass Outbreak event is active, Pokemon Scarlet and Viole t trainers who use a Shiny Sandwich can further increase their odds of finding a Shiny Vulpix, Numel, or Charcadet out in the wild. It remains to be seen how many Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers will participate in the final Shiny Treasure of Ruin event.
