On April 13, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet announced that a new Seven-Star Tera Raid challenge will start on Easter weekend, as trainers will face off against the draconic Salamence the Unrivaled. The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Seven-Star Tera Raid challenge will have a second run on the last weekend of April for trainers who missed the first round.
Known as the Dragon Pokemon, Salamence first appeared in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. Salamence is a Dragon and Flying dual-type monster and is the fully-evolved form of Bagon and Shelgon. As one of two pseudo-legendary Pokemon from the Hoenn region alongside Metagross, Salamence is known for its fast and powerful onslaught of diverse attacks like Dual Wingbeat and Dragon Claw. In Pokemon Scarlet, Salamence received a version-exclusive, Past Paradox version of itself called Roaring Moon. By contrast, Salamence and its previous forms are more readily found in the wild areas of Pokemon Violet.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Are Getting a Switch 2 Update
Nintendo announces a Switch 2 update for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, improving the experience of playing the popular games on the upcoming console.
After a short break following the Tyranitar Seven-Star Tera Raid event, Pokemon trainers will soon have another dangerous foe to battle and capture. According to Serebii.net, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will start the Salamence Seven-Star Tera Raid event on Easter weekend. The battles begin on Thursday, April 17, at 8:00 PM Eastern and end on Sunday, April 20, at 7:59 PM Eastern. A second round will run from April 24 to 27 at the same start and end times. Salamence the Unrivaled will have the Flying-type as its Tera-type and will grant the Mightiest Mark to trainers who defeat it. While previous Seven-Star Tera Raid bosses have exclusively carried a Hidden Ability, other Pokemon like Dondozo and Dragonite have used their standard Abilities instead. Ergo, Salamence has two abilities for Pokemon trainers to consider.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Salamence Seven-Star Tera Raid Details (Easter 2025)
- Salamence the Unrivaled will be the next Seven-Star Tera Raid challenge in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
- Salamence will have the Flying-type as its Tera-type.
- The Seven-Star Tera Raid event runs from April 17 to 20, with a second run from April 24 to 27.
- Electric, Ice, and Rock Pokemon attacks will be effective against Salamence.
Salamence's main Ability is Intimidate, which lowers the physical attack stat of opposing Pokemon by one stage, while its Hidden Ability, Moxie, raises Salamence's physical attack by a stage after defeating a foe. However, Salamence's Flying-Tera typing is not without its weaknesses. Given that Flying-type creatures take extra damage from Rock, Ice, and Electric attacks in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, strong Electric Pokemon like Miraidon, Eelektross, and Zapdos could come in handy against Salamence the Unrivaled.
Between its abilities and moves like Dual Wingbeat, Earthquake, and Dragon Claw, Salamence's potential as a competitive Flying-type Pokemon will make it a tricky foe for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players to overcome. It remains to be seen what strategies trainers will form to take down Salamence the Unrivaled.
