Pokemon have all types of useful abilities inside and outside of battle. Flame Body has been an extraordinarily sought-after ability within the competitive and shiny-hunting scenes. And the ability makes a return in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. By checking out this guide, players will learn everything they need to know about Flame Body.
What Does Flame Body Do?
The ability Flame Body has a 30% chance of leaving the opponent with a burn when making contact with the Pokemon with this ability. This is a great ability for in-battle purposes, but there is another effect Flame Body has that makes these Pokemon worth the effort to look for. When a Pokemon with Flame Body is in a trainer's party, the steps needed to hatch an egg are cut in half, even if the Pokemon is fainted. It's worth noting that Pokemon that have access to Flame Body through hidden abilities will need an Ability Patch to use it
This helps those trainers who may want to cut down the time it takes to breed for a perfect 6 IV Pokemon in order to have the edge in ranked matches online or even to have an advantage against friends. Trainers may even go after the ever-elusive shiny Pokemon with the halved hatch time. Knowing the hidden secrets of this ability is only half the battle. Finding a Pokemon with this ability is not the most common occurrence without knowing which Pokemon have Flame Body, and it may even take a bit of time tracking one down randomly in the vast open world of Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.
Where to Get a Pokemon with Flame Body
There are currently 16 Pokemon with access to Flame Body, and 14 of those are available in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet -- those Pokemon can be obtained with access to Pokemon Home and The Teal Mask expansion. All 14 currently obtainable Pokemon with Flame Body are potential team members for those eager shiny breeders or will help to breed the next competitive powerhouse.
Sizzlipede and Centiskorch are the other two Pokemon with Flame Body, but they are not included in the table since they are currently unobtainable in Scarlet and Violet. With the upcoming release of The Indigo Disk, the pair might return, but it has not been confirmed.

How to Use Flame Body
The hard part is complete once the preferred Flame Body user has been found and captured. As previously stated, the Pokemon with Flame Body only needs to be in the breeder's party with no other requirements.
The uses of Flame Body outside of battle are key for any trainer looking to optimize breeding and enjoy a more competitively viable Pokemon to push through the ranks and defeat tough opponents.
Breeders can also chase the rush of defying the odds and hatching a new shiny Pokemon, and for the ambitious, even a shiny 6 IV Pokemon. With the use of Flame Body and hatch times reduced to half, trainers can spend more time enjoying their favorite aspects of Pokemon.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available for the Nintendo Switch.
