The two-part DLC introduces new characters, Pokemon, and regions that are also home to some familiar faces. Sewaddle and its evolution line are returning Pokemon in The Teal Mask. Sewaddle is a caterpillar-like Pokemon that evolves into a surprisingly offensive dual Grass/Bug-type Pokemon. However, Leavanny has a special evolution condition that players may not be aware of. So, whether players plan to battle with it or collect it for their Pokedex, this guide has everything they need to know to catch Sewaddle and evolve it into Swadloon and Leavanny in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Sewaddle Location

Sewaddle is a small Grass/Bug-type Pokemon, so players will find it in grassy areas. Kitakami is a mixture of grass plains, mountains, and forests. Sewaddle is a common Pokemon across the southern grassy areas and appears mainly during the day.

Players will find them near the bus stop and surrounding areas when they first arrive in Kitakami. Sewaddles are usually lower level, and catching them is easy, especially if players have a Net Ball or Great Ball.

How to Evolve Sewaddle into Swadloon

Sewaddle evolves into Swadloon at level 20. Swadloon is the most plant-like in the evolution line, and it gets a boost in all stats, especially Defense. As long as Sewaddle is in your active party, it will earn EXP every time you win a battle.

Rare Candy and EXP Candies are another way to level up Sewaddle without battling. The consumables can be picked up in the Overworld by clicking on the sparkles along the ground. Players can also get them by battling Pokemon in Tera Raids.

How to Evolve Swadloon into Leavanny

Leavanny is the final and most robust form of Sewaddle. Its high attack stat sets it apart from its predecessors, but players must complete a particular evolution requirement if they hope to get one from Swadloon.

The only way to evolve Swadloon into Leavanny is to increase its friendship and level it up. Players can increase their friendships with their Pokemon by interacting with them during camps, healing them after battles, and feeding them certain berries. There isn't a way to check the friendship level, so players must complete these actions until Swadloon levels up and evolves.
