Upon their debut, Rock-type Cranidos and Rampardos were Pokemon that could only be obtained through fossils you could collect in the Underground of Pokemon Diamond. Cranidos and Rampardos don't appear in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet's Paldea or Kitakami, but they can be caught in the wilds of the Indigo Disk DLC.
Just as it was in Pokemon Diamond/Brilliant Diamond, Cranidos and its evolution are version-exclusive Pokemon. They can be found in Pokemon Scarlet, but if you have Pokemon Violet, you'll need to trade or transfer it. Once you gain access to Terarium in the Indigo Disk DLC, you should go to a specific Biome if you want to catch Cranidos.
How to Get Kyogre in The Indigo Disk DLC (Pokemon Scarlet & Violet)
After beating the main story of The Indigo Disk DLC and rolling credits, you can speak to Snacksworth to make Legendary Pokemon appear.
Where to Find Cranidos in Pokemon Scarlet
Cranidos can be found on a mountain in the Canyon Biome. Specifically, you'll want to head to the land east of the Canyon Plaza and Canyon Rest Area. You'll need to climb or fly with Koraidon/Miraidon to reach it. Refer to the orange objective flag on the above image for the exact location.
You can also find Cranidos in 3-star Tera Raids in Terarium. The ones caught in the Raids will be level 35.
If you're having a difficult time catching Cranidos, try to circle around and throw the Pokemon at its back. This will catch Cranidos off guard and make it easier to catch.
How to Get Cranidos in Pokemon Violet
To get Cranidos in Pokemon Violet, you'll need to trade with someone who has Pokemon Scarlet, or you can transfer a Cranidos from another Pokemon game. To trade Pokemon, you'll need a Nintendo Online Membership to access online features. With this, you can create or join a Group at the Union Circle:
- Access the Union Circle in the Poke Portal or at Pokemon Centers.
- Choose to Form a Group or Join a Group.
- Once you embark/set out, you can then trade with whoever's in your Union Circle. You can set up a Trade in the Poke Portal and choose Link Trade. Either Set Code or input the Code from the person you are trading with.
If you'd prefer not to trade, you'll have to catch Cranidos in any of the following games, then use Pokemon HOME to transfer it to Pokemon Violet:
- Pokemon Brilliant Diamond: Dig up a Skull Fossil in the Grand Underground, then take it to Oreburgh to revive Cranidos.
- Pokemon Legends: Arceus: Catch Cranidos in space-time distortions in the Coronet Highlands.
- * Pokemon GO: Obtain Cranidos in the wild or from Research Breakthroughs.
* If you're transferring from Pokemon GO, you'll need to link your GO and Pokemon HOME account. You can do this through the Settings in GO.
If you're transferring Cranidos to Pokemon Violet from a Pokemon Switch game (i.e, Brilliant Diamond, Legends), you'll have to catch and place Cranidos in the PC Box/Pasture of the Pokemon game you're transferring from, and move it to a Basic Box in Pokemon HOME. Once it's in a Basic Box in HOME, you can move it to Pokemon Violet.
How to Get Terapagos in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet's Indigo Disk DLC
Terapagos, the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, can be caught in The Indigo Disk DLC --here's how to get the Legendary Pokemon.
How to Evolve Cranidos into Rampardos
Cranidos evolves into Rampardos once it reaches level 30. Since the Cranidos in the Canyon Biome/Indigo Disk will be well-over their evolution level, you just need to give it a Rare Candy/level up once to make it evolve. Another way to get Rampardos is to catch one in 4-star Tera Raids.
Cranidos and Rampardos only appear in the Tera Raids in Terarium, and only in Pokemon Scarlet.
