One of the most beloved NPCs in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet's Teal Mask DLC, Kieran, undergoes a significant change in The Indigo Disk and turns out to be one of the most difficult trainers players face not only in the game but also in the history of the franchise.
It's not often that fans demand more of an NPC in the Pokemon franchise, but the likes of Kieran and Carmine managed to make a lasting impact on fans. Kieran's introverted personality is completely overhauled when he arrives at the Blueberry Academy, sporting not only a new look but also some newfound confidence as well. The battle with Kieran is the final battle as part of The Indigo Disk's Blueberry League Elite Four, and it rightly deserves the hype that leads up to it. For players struggling to beat Kieran in the game, here is all they need to know.
Palworld's Survival is Like a Next Level Version of One Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Mechanic
While Palworld has drawn criticism for its similarities to the Pokemon series, the game builds upon one mechanic from Scarlet and Violet in a new way.
Best Counters For Kieran In Indigo Disk BB League Elite Four Battle
Kieran has a well-rounded team, and unlike the Elite Four, it doesn't depend on one type as such. Not to forget, two of the Pokemon, Politoad and Grimmsnarl, hold a Wacan Berry and Focus Sash, respectively. This means that the first Electric-type attack on Politoad will not be as effective, while Grimmsnarl will take one attack more to get knocked out. Likewise, Dragonite, Porygon-Z, Incineroar, and Hydrapple hold Expert Belt, Life Orb, Sitrus Berry, and Assault Vest, respectively.

When it comes to beating Kieran, players should be careful about simply relying on the weakness of the Pokemon to beat them, as they are equipped with moves to counter their weaknesses, which can backfire pretty quickly. Having Pokemon closer to level 100 does help in such scenarios, so it is probably a good idea to level up the team before taking on Kieran.
Thankfully, there is a common type that can be effective against several Pokemon from Kieran's team. Fairy-types are super effective against Dragonite, Grimmsnarl, and Hydrapple, making Pokemon with Fairy-type movesets a really good option for the battle. Flutter Mane is considered one of the best Fairy types in the game, so having it in the team is a really good option.
Apart from Fairy-type, players should also ensure they have a few Pokemon with Dragon, Rock, and Fighting-type moves to help them get through the likes of Porygon-Z, Incineroar, and Hydrapple. For Politoed, players should prefer using a Grass type over an Electric-type to ensure they evade the effects of the Wacan Berry. Last but not least, players can also use Ogerpon to unlock a special dialogue with Kieran. The Cornerstone mask is a great option for this battle since it gives players a really good type coverage.
