Pokemon Scarlet & Violet's The Indigo Disk DLC has brought back a plethora of fan-favorite Pokemon and the fiery trio of Magby, Magmar, and Magmortar are also debuting in the game as part of the expansion.
While the Teal Mask DLC had more emphasis on the storyline, the Indigo Disk DLC goes all out on adding some really exciting and challenging battles with the Blueberry Academy Elite Four. From starters to legendaries, players get a chance to explore and get their hands on some really powerful Pokemon in the Blueberry Academy's Terrarium. For players who are looking to get Magby and its evolutions, here is where they can find them.
How To Catch Magby & Magmar
Magby & Magmar can easily be found in a variety of locations in the game. In fact, players can find both of them in the same areas, which include the southwestern part of the Savannah Biome as well as the Torchlit Labyrinth in the Southern part of the Coastal Biome. It is much easier to find Magby and Magmar in the Torchlit Labyrinth, and players should be able to encounter them right after they enter the cave. This is by far the easiest way to get a Magmar, although players can simply catch a Magby from these locations as well and evolve them into a Magmar.
As far as Magmortar is concerned, the Pokemon is not available in the wild in Scarlet & Violet. For players looking to add Magmortar to their collection, the only way out is to evolve a Magmar into Magmortar. Here is how players can evolve Magby into Magmar and Magmortar.
How To Evolve Magby Into Magmar and Magmortar (Magmarizer Location)
Evolving Magby to Magmar is quite straightforward, and all players need to do is level up their Magby to level 30. If by any chance they have caught a Magby that is higher than level 30, then simply leveling up once should be able to trigger the evolution process. When it comes to Magmortar, the evolution falls under one of the special evolutions in the game and simply leveling up the Pokemon isn't enough.
To get a Magmortar, players need to trade a Magmar while it is holding a Magmarizer. The Magmarizer can be obtained from the Blueberry Academy School Store for 250 BP. Players can collect more BP by completing more Blueberry Quests. The best way is to simply trade the Pokemon with a friend, and then get it back. Unfortunately, for players looking for alternative ways to get the Pokemon, this is the only way Magmortar can be caught in the game.
