Shiny Pokemon were introduced in Gen 2 and interestingly, the name "shiny" was created by the Pokemon community. The origin of this term comes from the sparkling sound effect and animation that happens when a player encounters a Pokemon of this type. Eventually, the term was officially adopted in Gen 4 and used to promote a specific shiny Pokemon event. Shiny Pokemon have a different color palette than their original counterparts and are harder to find. Because of their rarity, some players go to great lengths to assemble an impressive Pokedex of shiny Pokemon.
User NachoCorp1 shared on Reddit a video showing their adorable shiny puppy team. The player is on the beach and calls the Pokemon close to them, sharing a wholesome moment of interaction. Pokemon has a considerable variety of Pokemon based on dogs, and NachoCorp1's team brings together a bit of the franchise's past and present. Part of the team consists of Growlithe, the Gen 1 Fire-type and one of the original 150, and the Gen 2 Dark/Fire-type Houndor. Although Growlithe and Rockruff are territory rivals, the Gen 7 Rock-type is also present in the team created by the player.
The second part of NachoCorp1's team consists of Gen 9 puppy Pokemon. One of them is Fidough, an interesting case of Fairy-type Pokemon whose breath has yeast used to ferment things. Also on the team is Maschiff, a Dark-type who tries to look dangerous, but whose scowl can't intimidate even children. The last member of the party is Greavard, one of the Pokemon that became a hit on the internet after being announced. Despite its cute appearance, Greavard is one of the Pokemon with disturbing lore.
Pokemon is a franchise that attracts for its strong competitive aspect but also captivates players for the possibility of doing fun things like assembling a complete team of shiny Pokemon. NachoCorp1's idea brings together the best of both worlds by getting together shiny and puppy Pokemon, making their team even more adorable. With nine generations of Pokemon games released, these shiny little monsters continue to produce fun and unusual stories, and sometimes surprisingly stressful moments involving shiny Pokemon.
