Pokemon Trading Card Game has revealed the pull rates for the new Black Bolt and White Flare expansion. That is the fifth and final Pokemon TCG special expansion released in the Scarlet and Violet cycle, and it takes fans back to Gen 5, celebrating the monsters first seen in Unova.

Black Bolt and White Flare are two sets released as a single expansion that first arrived in Japan on June 6. Each card in the expansion features a secret rare or higher art variant, cards with a Poke Ball or Master Ball in the background, and 38 new cards featuring Pokemon ex. On July 18, Black Bolt and Bolt were released in the West, marking the first time an international special expansion has been localized from one that came out in Japan. For fans planning to collect the new Pokemon TCG cards, important information was recently shared.

Pokemon TCG Fan Makes Amazing Discovery at Local Store

A Pokemon Trading Card Game fan makes an incredible discovery at their local store, and gets an iconic card in a surprising way.

TCG Player revealed the pull rates for Black Bolt and White Flare, giving Pokemon TCG fans the odds of getting cards of different rarities. The numbers are based on more than 700 booster packs opened, and according to them, around 30.56% of the packs have a chance of having a Poke Ball Foil card. Double Rare, Ultra Rare, and Illustration Rare cards, in turn, have about a 21.11%, 5.83%, and 16.39% chance of being pulled. Master Ball Foil and Special Illustration Rare cards, with impressive illustrations of Gen 5 Pokemon and characters such as N and Hilda, have only a 5.14% and 1.25% chance of appearing.

Pokemon Trading Card Game Reveals the Chances of Getting Black Bolt and White Flare Cards

The only exception to the survey conducted by TCG Player is the Black White Rare cards, for which the website was unable to determine the pull rates. These cards are the rarest in the expansion and feature the Legendary Pokemon Reshiram, Zekrom, and the Mythical critter Victini. In addition to their rarity, these cards are unique in that they feature a full illustration in a monochromatic color scheme. While players have a chance to pull Victini and Reshiram by opening White Flare packs, Victini and Zekrom can appear in Black Bolt boosters.

Despite this setback, TCG Player claims that getting Illustration Rare cards in Black Bolt and White Flare is much easier than in any other expansion in the Scarlet and Violet series. According to Destined Rivals pull rates, fans have an approximate 1 in 12 chance of getting one of these cards when opening packs, while in Black Bolt and White Flare, the odds are 1 in 6.
