Within the eBay listing, Persin goes on to explain more details about how he acquired the collection. He shared that he would attend each year's World Championships tournament with his wife, approaching the finalists and runner-ups and offering to buy the cards from them. Persin also details the contents of the collection and how it has grown over time, with Pokemon expanding the Championship cards to the video game winners and last year for Pokemon GO and Pokemon Unite. The seller does share that the buyer will need to fly to Las Vegas to pick up the order, not feeling comfortable shipping such an expensive collection.

The pricey Pokemon collection serves as one of the rarest sets from a game filled with coveted cards. Many Pokemon cards from the game's standard sets have garnered price tags above $1,000 USD, including the "Evolving Skies" and "Prismatic Evolutions" alternate arts of Umbreon as particular highlights. Special promo cards like the "Van Gogh Pikachu" have often fetched even higher numbers, reaching into tens and hundreds of thousands. The World Championships set is sure to be one of the most unique and valuable Pokemon collections out there.
