Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket will celebrate its first anniversary later this month, and to celebrate, some major changes and highly requested features will be added in a new update. Players will soon be able to share cards with friends directly, and the Wonder Pick feature in Pokemon TCG Pocket will become much more helpful for those seeking to complete their collections.

Pokemon TCG Pocket Rare Picks ex cards

Upon its release on October 30, 2024, Pokemon TCG Pocket became an instant hit, earning over $2.7 million in its first day and $200 million in its first month. So far, 11 expansions have been released, each offering players new cards to add to their collections and to utilize in battle. The Deluxe Pack EX in Pokemon TCG Pocket is the current expansion, and while it has been very well received, it operates a little differently from past sets, which are all still available for fans to open. This set will only be available until October 30, after which players can expect a fresh release, which the developer has confirmed will include Mega Evolution Pokemon.

Pokemon TCG Pocket has a total of eight expansions for players to open, each with one-to-three booster packs, and they are not exactly born equal.

Pokemon TCG Pocket Anniversary Update to Add Share Feature, Wonder Pick Improvements

The team behind Pokemon TCG Pocket has announced several changes and new features scheduled to be added in an update later this month, though the exact date has not been confirmed. Players will soon be able to utilize the new Share feature, which will enable them to send one card of one to four diamond rarity to a friend each day. Additionally, the Wonder Pick feature will see an overhaul, with cards from the game's latest expansion that players haven't obtained appearing more frequently. The trading feature will also be tweaked, with players being able to trade cards from the newest booster and more cards becoming eligible to trade. With any luck, these helpful changes will make it easier for fans to complete their collections, as many Pokemon TCG Pocket players have complained about the game's quick release cadence in the past.

Many of these changes may be a result of Pokemon TCG Pocket's downward trajectory, with a report earlier this month confirming that the game's September revenue was only half of that seen in August. On iOS, the title has lost around 60% of its players, prompting many to wonder if it's possible for the game to bounce back. To put things in perspective, Pokemon TCG Pocket had around 3.1 million players on iOS in January, but only 1.1 million in September.
