A new Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket theory claims that bent packs have a higher chance of containing a rare card. In Pokemon TCG Pocket, players can open a free pack every 12 hours, but they can also earn in-game items or make a purchase with real money to open packs faster for more chances of finding rare cards.

Pokemon TCG Pocket has its own exclusive set of digital cards, with the rarest of the bunch displaying Pokemon in immersive 3D illustrations. Mewtwo EX was the first 3D immersive card revealed at the 2024 Pokemon World Championships in Honolulu, which showed off how detailed the animations can be. There are many cards featuring this unique art style, and understandably, they are some of the most coveted cards in the game.

Following the launch of Pokemon TCG Pocket, players quickly discover that a Basic Pokemon card can dominate the game's battle scene.

After choosing a type of pack to open in Pokemon TCG Pocket, a circle of boosters pops up for the player to choose from. On October 31, Japanese Twitter user @Jedis_tm posted a theory that every bent booster pack in a lineup has a significantly higher chance of containing a rare card. Before clicking on a pack, players can rotate a booster by dragging their finger over it. Sometimes, a pack may appear slightly bent at the corners, and these may contain a much rarer card than the others. The popular Pokemon content creator Jeudy Azzarelli was skeptical at first but later found that they were pulling much rarer cards from these packs. “Nevermind, it’s real,” Azzarelli tweeted, with a screen recording of him opening a full-art Articuno EX.

Rumors Circulate on Social Media About Bent Packs Containing Rarer Cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket

Pokemon TCG Pocket was downloaded over 10 million times within 48 hours of launch, making it an instant hit. Pocket may have already overtaken Pokemon TCG Live in downloads, with the latter being the main way to play the card game online in a standard format. According to Statista, Pokemon TCG Live only had 4.4 million downloads in 2023, as compared to the incredible amount of downloads Pocket has received over the past week. Many believe that the incredible fan response to Pokemon TCG Pocket may also cause the physical card game to see a boost in sales.

Pokemon TCG Pocket is on track to be the most successful way for fans to play the popular card game in digital form. The game’s first Wonder Pick event launched on November 1 and will end on November 22, allowing players to snag special Chansey and Meowth cards, along with some cute card decorations.
