Players can choose from a range of different Types when it comes to building their own decks in Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket, much like the physical Pokemon TCG game. When building decks, players can select from the cards that they own to build a 20-card composition following various strategies. The best builds are optimized across a singular Type, with the best Supporter cards and side Pokemon to support the Ace in their role.

Ever since the initial Genetic Apex release, Fire Type decks have proven themselves to be some of the best available, offering a high damage output, and often, rapid Energy acceleration to help players get ahead. Notable Supporter cards such as Blaine and Leaf provide the bonus of additional damage or assisting in rotation for pivoting your strategy. If you're looking for some of the best Fire decks in Pokemon TCG Pocket, all relevant information, including complete deck lists, has been included in the guide below.

Best Fire Type Decks in Pokemon TCG Pocket

Blaine, Ninetales and Magmar in Pokémon TCG Pocket-1

In Pokemon TCG Pocket, Fire Type cards have some powerful attacks. Notable Aces such as Charizard ex, Arcanine ex, and Rapidash all have a strong damage-per-turn output. Supporting cards like Volcarona and Moltres provide valuable backup and establish strategies to hinder your opponent or buff your own cards. Lastly, unique Fire Type-oriented Supporters such as Blaine can come in clutch when running certain Fire Types. The best decks utilizing such cards are listed below, as well as a complete decklist for each build.

Arcanine ex

arcanie ex-1

Arcanine ex has high damage output, making it a brilliant Fire Type Ace. Arcanine comes paired with a formidable 150 HP and a very strong Inferno Onrush attack, which only requires 3 Energy to be attached in order to deal 120 damage per turn. This is enough to 1-hit KO even some ex cards. Moltres provides support to Arcanine with Heat Blast as a backup attack dealing 70 damage per turn, as well as the Inferno Dance ability to equip multiple Energy per round.

Mew ex is incorporated as a second-side Pokemon, bringing some solid utility through the ability to copy an enemy Pokemon's move and hit them back with their own damage. On ex cards in particular, this is very powerful, as you may be able to knock some Pokemon out before they can even get an attack off. Lastly, key Supporter cards have been implemented to ensure players can rotate Pokemon as needed, get the key cards into their hand, and disrupt their opponent's Active Spot.

Blaine

blaine

Unlike some other decks, which can take a while to get set up and figure out the key strategy into play, the Blaine deck build has the advantage of being quicker to set up while also providing a good offensive output. The Blaine Supporter card is a key focus, as well as Ninetales, Rapidash, and Magmar, in order to make the most out of this card. Through coin flips, Rapidash has the possibility to deal up to 100 damage per turn with only 2 Energy equipped, while Ninetales requires 2 Energy to deal 90 damage per turn.

Lastly, Magmar deals 80 damage per turn when 2 Energies are equipped, but will discard both of them to do so. Blaine helps make this more viable by boosting the damage in exchange for this loss. Like all cards in this deck at 2-stage setups, players have the advantage of beating many opponents who may take longer to set up their field due to 3-stage lines.

Infernape ex

infernape ex

Infernape ex was released alongside the Space-Time Smackdown expansion, entering the meta as a strong Fire Type Ace perfect for building a deck around. Infernape ex has a sturdy 170 HP and a move that can deal a whopping 140 damage in a single turn, which is more than enough to knock out many different ex cards in a single hit. However, Infernape discards all attached energy in doing so. To work around this, Moltres ex is the perfect secondary addition, as it can help provide extra Energies every turn through the Inferno Dance Ability.

Charizard ex

charizard ex-1

The mighty Charizard ex deck has been a popular choice for many players throughout the meta. With the arrival of new expansions, this deck continues to be perfected with Supporter Cards and secondary Pokemon to create the best synergy and strategy on the field. Much like many other cards in the Fire Type pool, Charizard ex has an attack that can deal significant damage per turn at the 200 mark, which is enough to one-hit KO almost every card in the game.

However, Charizard discards 2 Energy with each use, which makes Moltres shine as a secondary Pokemon once again. Chatot helps to refresh your hand and potentially get the cards you need into play. Mew ex remains a decent utility pick for the ability to mimic the attack of the opponent's Pokemon and use it against them. When used at the perfect time, this can create strong counterplay or potentially KO a Pokemon before they can act, if you're the one to attack first.

Volcarona / Arcanine ex

arcanine and volcarona-1

Arcanine ex comes into play once again, this time alongside Volcarona. This deck enables Arcanine to shine as the Ace Pokemon, while Volcarona backs up with the unique Volcanic Ash ability. This can target and potentially even one-hit KO Pokemon on your opponent's bench — making the bench in general a pain to use.

Moltres is included for bonus Energy consistency, as Volcanic Ash discards energy from Volcarona with each use. Lastly, key Supporter cards help make an impact. For example, Pokemon Flute can force a Pokemon onto the bench, giving Volcarona the opportunity to set up for an easy snipe. Giovanni supports Arcanine by boosting damage from 120 to 130, which enables it to 1-hit KO a wider range of ex cards.
