Best Psychic Decks In Pokemon TCG Pocket

Sadly, there are not as many viable Psychic Type deck builds in Pokemon TCG Pocket in comparison to other elemental Types in the meta. However, the select few Psychic Type decks that are viable are among the best - being solid at worst and excellent within the meta at best. Key Ace Pokemon include the iconic Legendaries, Mew ex, and Mewtwo ex, as well as popular supporting Pokemon such as Gardevoir, and Weezing, whilst selective Supporters such as Budding Expeditioner and Koga have been implemented to further assist such builds.

Mewtwo ex / Gardevoir

Mewtwo ex and Gardevoir is a deck build that has remained near the top of the meta ever since it first came to be during Genetic Apex. Mewtwo ex has some very good attacks with Psychic Spear dealing 50 damage per turn at 2 Energy, and Psydrive doing a whopping 150 damage per turn, which is enough to one-shot KO most ex cards in the game, or definitely two-hit KO the remaining ex cards. However, using this move will discard 2 Energy from Mewtwo ex. For this reason, Gardevoir comes in as a huge support for Mewtwo ex, as it can attach an additional Energy to it per turn, whilst sitting on the bench - meaning every turn Mewtwo ex remains in play, you can add 2 Energy to it, fueling Psydrive on every turn.

Mew ex / Weezing

Mew ex arrived in the game through the Mythical Island expansion, adding another Psychic Type Ace card that makes a good foundation to build a deck around. Mew has the unique flexibility of being able to copy powerful moves from an opposing Active Pokemon and use them against them, which can enable it to KO them before they can get ahead - especially if Mew attacks first. Furthermore, mew is also very easy and quick to set up as a basic Pokemon that can start attacking with 1 Energy and build towards being able to snipe enemy Pokemon moves.

Weezing provides assistance to Mew through the ability to inflict Poisons on the enemy for extra splash damage, and the inclusion of cards such as Koga, Budding Expeditioner, and X Speed assist the player in being able to swap Weezing and Mew in and out of the active spot to pivot between inflicting these Poisons and then dealing massive damage against key targets.

Alakazam / Jynx

The Alakazam / Jynx deck build isn't quite on the same power scale as Mewtwo ex and Mew ex decks, but this deck is still a somewhat solid build, and far more F2P friendly, as it has no rare and expensive ex cards to obtain. In particular, this deck operates surprisingly well against the likes of high energy-dependant builds, as Alakazam's attack only costs 3 Energy equipped and can ramp up damage depending on the amount of Energy attached to your opponent's Active Pokemon.

Jynx operates as a secondary Pokemon, as whilst it does not deal as much damage as Alakazam, it can be quicker to get out on the field as it is only a Basic Pokemon rather than a 3-stage. Lastly, Sigilyph also works as an initial Basic Pokemon to play while you build Alakazam and Jynx on the bench, as it has a 1 Energy cost to attack, and this attack will also cause you to draw a card with each use - hopefully getting the required evolutions needed to get your Ace into play quickly. Mythical Slab assists in the same way, by enabling you to draw a Psychic Type Pokemon. Finally, the rest of the build is concluded with standard Supporters, such as Poke Ball, Professor's Research, and Sabrina.
