Pokemon Trading Card Game's first-ever expansion set is titled Mythical Island, which added a series of cards that can be collected by opening booster packs with adorable Mew-themed artwork on them. With the addition of Mythical Island, plenty of the newly-added cards became viable for use in deck-building, either as standalone Ace Pokemon or in synergy with cards from the same set or the previous set, Genetic Apex. As battling is an important part of the game that can be used to go up against other players or even earn rewards during limited-time events, building a series of strong decks gives players good versatility moving forward.

While there are an overwhelming number of Dark-type powerhouses available in the game, Mythical Island introduced the Scolipede card, which pairs very well with the Weezing card from Genetic Apex. By utilizing both of these cards, players can build a solid deck that inflicts status conditions upon their opponent and deals high damage. If you're curious about the best Scolipede/Weezing deck build in Pokemon TCG Pocket, all the relevant information you need, including a complete card list, has been included in the guide below.

Best Scolipede/Weezing Deck In Pokemon TCG Pocket, Explained

scolipede weezing 2

The biggest appeal of the Scolipede and Weezing deck in Pokemon TCG Pocket is the fact that it utilizes no ex cards, meaning it is much easier to build and therefore much more affordable for F2P-only players. This deck is also minimal in the amount of Energy it consumes to set up attacks in comparison to other decks, but it still provides a solid amount of damage output. However, this is a bit dependent on the success of inflicting Poisons on your opponent, so players will need to keep this in mind.

While this deck may struggle against meta Fighting-type decks, it is surprisingly reliable in matchups against Psychic Decks, such as the classic Mewtwo/Gardevoir deck combination. Weezing can apply Poisons to the opponent's Pokemon through its Gas Leak ability, while Scolipede's Venoshock attack deals a base 70 damage, and an additional 50 damage if the target Pokemon is Poisoned, for a total of 120 damage, which is enough to knock out even the likes of some ex cards in a single turn.

As Weezing needs to be in the Active Spot to use its Gas Leak ability, and then Venopede needs to switch in afterward to attack and apply the damage, the addition of cards such as Leaf and Koga becomes absolutely crucial. Both of these cards can be played cleverly at the start or end of your turn to switch your Pokemon in and out, letting you both apply Gas Leak and Scolipede's attack in a single turn. Sabrina also enables you to disrupt your opponent's play by switching their active Pokemon with a benched Pokemon, which can result in Poisons across multiple enemy Pokemon at once. However, players can only play one Supporter card per turn, so they will need to plan carefully.

For example, players can start with Weezing, apply the Poison, use the Leaf Supporter to help them switch out for Scolipede, attack with Scolipede, and then end their turn and gain up to 2 knockout points. Then, on the next turn, they can use Koga at the start of the turn to get Weezing back into the Active Spot and apply Poison again.
