Summary

  • Meowscarada and Beedrill Ex deck in Pokemon TCG is an effective counter for meta decks, accessible for all players.
  • Players can easily obtain the required cards for the deck, including Meowscarada, through the Shining Revelry set.
  • The deck is likely to remain relevant in future expansions, making it a strong choice for Ranked mode in Pokemon TCG Pocket.

With Shining Revelry launching at the end of March and April being almost halfway through, Pokemon TCG Pocket players can expect quite the grind when the next expansion launches at the end of the month. Collecting all the cards in the game is no easy task for free-to-play fans, and Shining Revelry's collection is harder to complete when one considers the very rare shiny cards. Still, Pokemon TCG Pocket's new set created the perfect storm for one deck to become one of the best meta counters, and strangely enough, it's not as hard to build for all types of players, making Ranked mode very accessible.

There are many great decks in the game for those who want to try their hand at competitive battling or even the more relaxed PvP battles in the game, but some of them are much better than others. Pokemon TCG Pocket's new Giratina Ex decks are dominating the competitive scene due to how strong and reliable Giratina is, with variations using Darkrai Ex and other cards to best support the Gen 4 critter. The problem with new set releases is that, most of the time, it's hard to pull all the new cards early to build good decks, but one of the best anti-meta decks defies this logic.

Pokemon TCG Pocket's Current Meta Makes Two Unassuming Cards Amazing

Pokemon TCG Pocket's Shining Revelry set creates a new meta with many powerful cards, with two regaining their footing.

Pokemon TCG Pocket Players Should Build a Meowscarada and Beedril Ex Deck For Ranked

A great way to counter meta decks is to use the new Meowscarada in Pokemon TCG Pocket, which deals 60 damage for two Energy plus an additional 70 if the opposing Pokemon is an Ex card, for a total of 130 in one hit, potentially. This is enough to deal with several big threats provided they have some damage on them, and it can be even better if players use it in combination with Pokemon TCG Pocket's new Red card, which allows critters to deal 20 more damage if the target is an Ex card, allowing Meowscarada to one-shot Giratina Ex, Darkrai Ex, and other meta cards.

Meowscarada is also not an Ex card itself, meaning that even if defeated, the opponent only gets one point instead of two. On top of that, this card is easily attainable for new players and veterans alike, as it's only a rare, and it also has an illustration rare version, meaning there are more chances to get Pokemon TCG Pocket's Mewoscarada compared to other rares in Shining Revelry. Sprigatito and Floragato are even easier to obtain, and so are other cards that go in the deck, such as Team Rocket Grunt, Red, Professor's Research, and Poke Ball.

The other two-stage evolution line in the deck is made of one copy each of Weedle, Kakuna, and Beedril Ex, which can all be obtained for free by purchasing the Beedril Ex starter deck with the starter deck ticket in Pokemon TCG Pocket - at least until the end of the month. Then, other cards that go well in the deck include Cyrus, Pokemon Communication, and Giant Cape from Space-Time Smackdown and Erika from Genetic Apex, meaning one can potentially finish the whole deck within a couple of weeks without spending money.

Why Meowscarada and Beedril Ex Are Likely to Remain a Relevant Deck

Considering that there will always be Ex cards in the meta, acquiring Meowscarada in two copies now is a good thing, as it will likely remain relevant going into the next Pokemon TCG Pocket set at the end of April. Beedril Ex is quite strong too, and even if it becomes less relevant in the future, it can be obtained entirely for free and with little effort. Still, the Ranked season will go on for another couple of weeks, and this specific deck is strong in Pokemon TCG Pocket's Ranked mode all the way to Master Ball Rank.
