Although Pokemon TCG Pocket's last set came out on May 29, the next expansion for the game was just announced, and it's going to drop as soon as June 26, in just one week. The set is called Eevee Grove, and it features Eevee and all Eeveelutions in Pokemon TCG Pocket, though it's unclear if all of them will receive a non-Ex version and an Ex version, considering the expansion is going to add over 100 new cards. This is not the only Eevee-focused product released by The Pokemon Company this year, and in a way, it follows in the footsteps of Pokemon TCG's Prismatic Evolutions set, which added some incredible Eevee and Eeveelution cards (and one sold for an eye-watering $3,000).

As soon as Prismatic Evolutions was announced, it was clear that it was going to be one of the biggest sets ever for fans, and The Pokemon Company kept releasing new products for the expansion over time. For example, while the set was released in January, the Super Premium Collection came out in May, and the Prismatic Evolutions Premium Figure Collection will come out on September 26 alongside a copy of Umbreon Ex and Espeon Ex. Pokemon TCG Pocket will fortunately avoid the biggest issue with Prismatic Evolutions, though, and that's availability.

How Pokemon TCG Pocket's Eevee Grove Cleans Up Prismatic Evolutions' Mess

Pokemon TCG's Prismatic Evolutions set sold out everywhere immediately, to the point that The Pokemon Company had to issue an apology to the fans, promising it would print more cards as soon as possible and distribute products more widely. The issue was exacerbated by scalpers, as many fans were faced with the choice of either missing out on the set for a long time or paying more than double the price for each product. Restocks truly happened only months later, as the first batches also sold out immediately, and it was common for collectors and players alike to get their hands on Prismatic Evolutions two or three months after launch, and others never got their chance.

Pokemon TCG's Prismatic Evolutions Premium Figure Collection may also suffer the same fate and become unavailable for weeks or months after its September release, especially if it comes with alternate art for Umbreon Ex and Espeon Ex.

Pokemon TCG Pocket's Eevee Grove set may not have the same feel as the physical version of the game when it comes to opening packs and handling the cards, but it's still a love letter to Eevee fans. Considering that Eevee is one of the most beloved Pokemon in the franchise, and its Eeveelutions along with it, having the certainty that the product won't be sold out, and it will always be there, indirectly fixes Prismatic Evolutions' biggest issue.

On top of that, fans can get Eevee Grove boosters for free just by playing the game, be it with the guaranteed daily booster packs or by obtaining Pack Hourglasses, and Pokemon TCG Pocket even adds ways to get more Hourglasses whenever a new expansion is released. This can be a way for fans to experience Pokemon TCG's Prismatic Evolutions with a blank slate, and while it's not the same thing, it also doesn't carry the heavy baggage of controversy it was embroidered with.

Why Pokemon TCG Fans Shouldn't Sleep on Pokemon TCG Pocket's Eevee Grove Set

Eevee Grove is very likely to hit all the right notes with Eevee fans, as it's already confirmed to have some Ex cards that come in full art versions, like Sylveon Ex, so it's very likely that most Eeveelutions, if not all, will have at least one different version associated with them. 3-Diamond cards could get the Illustration Rare treatment, some Ex cards the full art treatment and/or the rainbow treatment, and then it's likely that Pokemon TCG Pocket's Eevee Ex will be the set's immersive card or its Gold card. Either way, this set is bound to leave a mark on Pokemon TCG Pocket's meta and become a fan-favorite, and Pokemon TCG fans can finally have a relaxed Eevee-themed booster pack-opening experience.
