Pokemon TCG Pocket Players Can Get 120 Free Hourglasses

Pokemon TCG Pocket has launched the 2025 Special Event, giving players the chance to earn up to 12 free booster packs and more. The game’s sixth expansion, Celestial Guardians, has just gone live, bringing a range of exciting new cards like the highly anticipated Alolan Raichu EX and Lunala EX. But the A3 set isn’t just about new cards, as Pokemon TCG Pocket continues to surprise fans with even more content.

The last Special Mission event took place in March 2025 during the launch of TCG Pocket’s Triumphant Light set. That event didn’t generate much buzz in the community, as many players felt the rewards were underwhelming. At the time, the developers were focused on promoting the game’s Trading features, which led to rewards centered mostly around Trade Tokens and Trade Hourglasses. Fortunately for fans, the new Special Event 2025 promises far more valuable rewards.

Announced alongside the launch of Pokemon TCG Pocket’s Celestial Guardians expansion, the 2025 Special Event gives players 120 free Pack Hourglasses. These booster pack resources can be earned by completing limited-time tasks tied to standard in-game activities like battling and opening packs. The celebration also includes a simultaneous special Drop Event featuring Rayquaza EX, which offers increased rates for first-time rewards. To participate, players must defeat the game’s AI on four difficulty levels, each awarding an additional 15 Pack Hourglasses, totaling 60—on top of the 120 earned from the Special Missions. Completing all tasks and winning battles lets players open 15 booster packs for free, which is a solid way to start the new set. Even better, Pack Hourglasses aren’t the only valuable rewards available during the event.

The Special Event runs for nearly a month and is set to conclude on May 29, likely coinciding with the release of a new mini-set. As part of the celebration, players can also farm TCG Pocket’s latest Promo-A packs through the Rayquaza ex Drop Event. To earn these, they’ll need to defeat the AI on Expert mode repeatedly to receive Promo-A Vol. 7 packs. These promotional packs include cards like Exeggcute P-A 060, Froakie P-A 061, Farfetch’d P-A 062, Rayquaza P-A 063, and Rayquaza ex P-A 064. There’s also an alternate version of the Rayquaza ex card, P-A 065, which players can unlock by winning 50 battles during the event.

A couple of weeks into the current special activity, TCG Pocket’s next event, the Alolan Ninetales Drop, is expected to begin. This upcoming event will likely introduce new card variants through Promo-A Pack Vol. 8. However, unlike the current event, it will offer the standard Pack Hourglass reward rate of just 20, rather than the generous 60 available now.
