On July 16, Pokemon TCG Pocket announced an upcoming update to the Trade feature, sparking excitement within the community. While fans were still discussing the news, the game suddenly revealed a new event that rewards players with a series-first accessory.

Pokemon TCG Pocket's next expansion release date may have been leaked by an official source, as a major trading system update draws near.
The nine-card backdrop is the first display board that lets fans showcase multiple cards at once. Of course, Pokemon TCG Pocket already had binders that can hold up to 30 cards, but those are merely albums for listing cards. Backdrops, on the other hand, have themes and create stylish displays, which is why the community is excited about the new nine-card variant.
How to Unlock Pokemon TCG Pocket's First 9-Card Backdrop
- Head to the Missions menu
- Open the Special Mission tab called Summer
- Choose two tasks to complete
- Return to the same section to collect the nine-card backdrop
The new card backdrop will be available until July 29, giving fans about two weeks to collect it. To use the nine-card backdrop, players need to go to their card dex and select "Display Boards" from the top-left corner. From there, they can tap "Create New" and fill the new backdrop with nine cards of their choice.

During the event, players can also earn up to 60 Pack Hourglasses, which amounts to five free Pokemon TCG Pocket booster packs. Additional rewards include Trade Tokens, Wonder Hourglasses, and Trade Hourglasses, all obtainable by completing the Summer Special Mission tasks.
The best thing about display boards is that they can be shared with friends and other community members. Even better, if viewers like a display, it can be transformed into a Pokemon TCG Pocket Shop Ticket, a form of currency that lets the board owner unlock useful items like Pack Hourglasses.
