A new Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket leak has revealed the potential conversion rate of trade tokens in Shinedust. That is one of the changes recently claimed by a Pokemon TCG Pocket rumor, indicating that the feature allowing players to trade cards with each other will see significant adjustments.
Specifically, this Pokemon TCG Pocket leak suggests that the trading system will receive a significant update on July 29. One of the main pieces of information revealed is that it will finally be possible to use Shinedust in trades, with Pokemon TCG Pocket ditching trade tokens. This change addresses recurring community feedback that complained about the high cost of trading cards, making the feature less appealing. Now, another Pokemon TCG Pocket leak brings additional details on how this new trading system may work.
Pokemon TCG Pocket: The Best Darkness-type Deck in Eevee Grove
Darkness is once again a fun archetype in Pokemon TCG Pocket, thanks to Eevee Grove's new cards, especially the fan-favorite Eeveelution, Umbreon.
On the Pokemon TCG Pocket subreddit, user I_use_NeoVIM_btw shared the conversion rate of trade tokens to Shinedust. Players can use one token to get a pack of Hourglasses, with a limit of 60 exchanges. One trade token can be exchanged for 10 Shinedust, and this exchange will be unlimited. Pokemon TCG Pocket players will also be able to exchange 10 trade tokens for 100 Shinedust and 100 tokens for 1000 Shinedust, and these exchanges will also have no limit.
Pokemon TCG Pocket May Finally Abandon Trade Tokens in July
The conversion table revealed by OP also notes that after this update, when a player pulls a card that is already registered in their Pokedex, the amount of Shinedust that is automatically given will be double the current amount. In March 2025, the Pokemon TCG Pocket devs announced that trade tokens would be removed and replaced by Shinedust, responding to another request from the community. Previously, players had asked for Shinedust to be made the trade currency, as they believed this would make the system more attractive, given that many have large amounts of Shinedust sitting unused.
The conversion rates and extra Shinedust gains from pulling cards have not yet been officially confirmed, so players should take this information with a grain of salt due to the possibility of changes or inaccuracies. If confirmed, however, these changes come at a very interesting time, as the themed booster pack Eevee Grove was released on June 26. The newest Pokemon TCG Pocket miniset added 107 new cards, but not all of them can be traded. However, one of those available for trading is Eevee ex, the first Basic Pokemon ex in the history of the mobile game capable of evolving.
