- Pokemon TCG Pocket may also be warning players against trying to offer trade opportunities once trading is added to the game on January 28.
Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket has issued a warning to players against engaging in "inappropriate conduct," including various forms of cheating. The timing of this announcement suggests it may be linked to Pokemon TCG Pocket's upcoming trading feature, the practice of Wonder Pick farming, or both.
Developed by DeNA in collaboration with Creatures Inc., Pokemon TCG Pocket debuted to immense success in late October 2024. Despite its name, the game initially did not support trading cards with other players. This feature was later announced to arrive on January 28.
Pokemon TCG Pocket Shares Pidgeot EX Deck Strategy
The Pokemon Company shares an idea for a Pidgeot EX deck, complete with a comprehensive strategy guide for how to best utilize it.
A day before adding trading support, DeNA issued a warning to Pokemon TCG Pocket players about "inappropriate conduct" that's in violation of its terms of use. The developer cited trading with real money and "data tampering" as examples of such behavior. Anyone who is found to be in violation of Pokemon TCG Pocket's terms of service will be warned, have their account suspended, or face another action, the January 27 in-game notification reads. DeNA said its strict policy against cheating and other behavior that's in violation of its ToS is meant to provide a fair environment that allows everyone to "safely and comfortably enjoy their experience."

Pokemon TCG Pocket May Be Cracking Down on Wonder Pick Farming
While the warning doesn't provide further details, some fans on social media believe it hints at a crackdown on the so-called "Wonder Pick farming." This practice involves creating numerous new accounts to roll a Pokemon TCG Pocket god pack and then selling the account's friend code to people who want a guaranteed rare card pick. Paying third parties for friend codes explicitly violates the game's terms of service. However, if DeNA is indeed preparing to crack down on this practice, it remains unclear whether its planned sanctions will target sellers, buyers, or both.
The late January notice can also be interpreted as a warning against selling card offers once trading rolls out. However, this potential practice may not be as popular as Wonder Pick farming because the initial version of Pokemon TCG Pocket's trading will be heavily restricted and prevent players from exchanging the three rarest—and hence most desirable—categories of cards in the game.
Pokemon TCG Pocket's terms of service can be reviewed by opening the home screen menu, tapping "Other," and then selecting the "Terms of Use" option. The agreement states that the game can modify its ToS at any time, even without notifying players—a fairly standard industry practice. Given the current lack of online buzz to the contrary, it appears that any potential crackdown on "inappropriate conduct" by Pokemon TCG Pocket hasn't started yet.
