Summary

  • GameStop is restocking select Pokemon TCG Prismatic Evolutions products on May 10.
  • The restock includes Elite Trainer Boxes and Tech Sticker Collections.
  • The size of the restock varies by location.

GameStop is restocking certain Pokemon Trading Card Game Prismatic Evolutions products across the country. However, the size of the restock appears to vary significantly by location, and Pokemon TCG fans likely don’t have much time to take advantage of it.

Originally announced in early November 2024, Pokemon TCG's Prismatic Evolutions expansion hit the store shelves in mid-January 2025. The entire product line was affected by widespread shortages from the get-go, leaving many fans unable to get their hands on it. Most major U.S. Retailers have been sporadically restocking Prismatic Evolutions in the months following its release.

Upcoming Pokemon TCG Expansion Confirms English Release

Pokemon TCG shares good news with fans in the West, confirming that one of its upcoming expansions will be released in English.

Continuing this trend, GameStop will be restocking select Prismatic Evolutions products later today, May 10. The size of this newly confirmed "redrop" varies by location, with details being communicated via window notices. The restock encompasses two Pokemon TCG products from the Prismatic Evolutions expansion—the Elite Trainer Box and Tech Sticker Collection. Based on fan reports on social media, most GameStop locations will reportedly have a limited number of additional ETBs available—up to a few dozen. One exception to this trend was shared by Twitter user PokeTCGAlerts, who found a GameStop location that promised to sell 123 additional Prismatic Evolutions ETBs.

GameStop's Prismatic Evolutions Restock May Come With Extra Limitations

Back at the peak of the set's scarcity, GameStop limited the sales of Pokemon TCG Prismatic Evolutions products to two per customer, not accounting for pre-orders. The retailer never officially lifted this restriction, so seeing how the expansion is still in short supply, it's likely that the same limitation will still apply to the May 10 restock. Apart from Prismatic Evolutions stickers and ETBs, the redrop also includes the Kanto Power Tins. Originally released in 2019, these mini bundles come with two booster packs, one Pokemon coin, and an art card matching the Pokemon that's on the cover of the tin. The Pokemon Company has released several variants of the Kanto Power Tins over the years, but GameStop’s latest notice doesn’t specify which version is being restocked.

Looking at reseller listings, Prismatic Evolutions still has a significant scalper problem. As of May 10, there are still dozens of eBay users selling the $49.99 Elite Trainer Box for over $100. The Pokemon Company previously apologized for Prismatic Evolutions shortages, vowing to keep reprinting the set's products for a while yet. Since releasing the expansion, TPC revealed three additional Pokemon TCG sets, including Journey Together, which hit the market in March 2025. Of the remaining two, Destined Rivals is scheduled to arrive in late May, while the Black Bolt and White Flare expansion is coming in mid-July.
