Summary
- A fan creates a Mega Evolution concept for Weezing, highlighting the Poison Gas Pokemon's unique traits.
- Mega Weezing designed by the fan artist features up to eight heads spraying poisonous gas - a creative twist on the original.
- The fan's chart shows Kanto Pokemon eligible for Mega Evolution in an ongoing project.
As part of an ongoing project, a Pokemon fan artist designed a Mega Evolution for Weezing and shared their handiwork on social media for all to see. The Pokemon fan artist also shared some early concept art of their Mega Weezing design and provided a checklist of critters that have not been made into a Mega Evolution yet.
Known as the Poison Gas Pokemon, Weezing first appeared in Pokemon Red and Blue. Weezing evolves from Koffing at level 35, and it gains a second head upon reaching its new form. In battle, Weezing is a defensive Poison-type Pokemon that can stall out most physical attacks. However, the Poison Gas Pokemon has a glaring weakness to Psychic Pokemon. In Pokemon Sword and Shield, Weezing received a Galarian regional variant that gained the Fairy type as its second type and has a black-colored body rather than purple. In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Koffing and Weezing can be caught in the Kitakami region, which requires players to have The Teal Mask DLC unlocked. Galarian Weezing can be traded over via Pokemon HOME.
New Pokemon Snap is Breaking a 24-Year Streak for the Franchise
New Pokemon Snap is making history as it breaks a 24-year streak for the franchise and influences future Nintendo game releases.
Though Weezing has a regional variant and can be useful in some battles, a Pokemon fan artist gave Weezing a Mega form that emphasized its trait of multiple heads. A Reddit user named _Conehead_ sketched their version of a Mega Weezing concept on the r/pokemon subreddit. Knowing that Weezing usually has two heads, _Conehead_ gave their Mega Weezing up to eight heads, with a large head in the middle. The other seven heads were attached to the main one, and each of them had pained expressions on their faces as they sprayed poisonous gas into the surrounding area. In a follow-up screenshot, _Conehead_ shared a quick sketch of another Mega Weezing concept that saw a large head and six smaller ones flying around it rather than attached to the main body.
Pokemon Fan Artist Creates Mega Weezing Concept
After showing the Mega Weezing sketches, _Conehead_ shared a chart of all the Kanto Pokemon that have either received an official Mega Evolution form or had one created by them as part of an ongoing project. With Pokemon such as Muk already done by _Conehead_, the project lists 45 more first-generation Pokemon that could be done in future posts. In the comments, other Pokemon fans complimented _Conehead_ for their ongoing work.
Knowing that Mega Evolution remains popular with Pokemon fans, the upcoming Pokemon Legends: Z-A will see Mega forms return to the series. It remains to be seen if creatures like Weezing will get an official Mega Evolution.
