When Pokémon Z-A releases later this year, it will be roughly three years since the launch of Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. Console trainers are surely hungry for the latest entry in the series. If you know you're going to be there for the newest adventure on day one, you might as well put a preorder down. Because if you do, there's a sweet reward that will be headed your way too.
The Pokémon Company announced that Pokémon Z-A preorders are officially live for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. If you claim your copy early, you'll also be sent a Pokémon Sitting Plush of one of the upcoming game's starter Pokémon.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A Leak Reveals More Features
A new Pokemon Legends: Z-A leak shared, and it reveals two potential features that players will see in the anticipated Pokemon game.
The Pokémon Z-A Starters
Who will you choose when you begin your adventure in Lumiose City?
In Pokémon Z-A, you'll be offered a partner from the starting trio of Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile. Chikorita, the "Leaf Pokémon," is a grass-type from Generation II's Gold and Silver. Tepig, a fire-type type, is known as the "Fire Pig Pokémon" and originated in Generation V's White and Black. And, finally, Totodile is the third starter. The "Big Jaw Pokémon" is a water-type that debuted alongside Chikorita in Generation II.

What Are Pokémon Sitting Cuties Plushes?
Cute Pokémon plushes that sit in the palm of your hand.
The free Pokémon preorder bonuses come in the form of Sitting Plushes. There are hundreds of these Sitting Plushes on The Pokémon Center Shop, so you can find one for practically any species in the Pokédex. Each of the plushes is typically priced around $17, so they're a pretty solid inclusion as a preorder bonus.
These Pokémon Sitting Plushes are all roughly around six inches tall and can rest in the palm of your hand. They all have a base that is weighted with microbeads, ensuring they'll stay in an upright seated position wherever you place them.
What to Expect from Pokémon Z-A
The next evolution of the Pokémon Arceus formula?
Pokémon Z-A takes the series back to Lumiose City, a prominent location that was a central point of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. It's the second-largest city in all of the Pokémon world. Pokémon Z-A takes place in the north-central Kalos location, yet this time the city has been redeveloped to serve as a home in which both Pokémon and humans can live in tandem. Much like Ryme City in the Detective Pikachu movie.
In Z-A, the game will allow Pokémon and their trainers to move around in real time during battles for the first time. This brings a fresh spin on timing moves, swapping Pokémon, and plenty more. In addition to the new battle mechanics, Mega Evolutions are back. Mega Evolutions originated in the X and Y games, so it's fitting to see the feature return in the Lumiose City-centric Z-A.
What is the Pokémon Z-A Release Date?
When are we finally going to travel back to Lumiose City?
Pokémon Z-A was just recently revealed to be coming our way on October 16 for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. After seeing how much better Scarlet and Violet run on the Switch 2, die-hard Pokémon fans may want to consider jumping to Nintendo's newest console for the newest Pokémon adventure.
The Pokémon Company also revealed just a couple of weeks ago that they will be hosting a Pokémon Presents on July 22nd. It's pretty much a guarantee that we'll get a deep dive into Pokémon Z-A at that time. Until then, preorder your copy of the game and secure one of these adorable Sitting Cuties Plushes. You can always cancel the preorder at a later date if you decide to skip the game at launch.
