Developer Mob Entertainment has released a new trailer for the highly-anticipated Chapter 4 of Poppy Playtime, which will feature the deceptively adorable enemy Yarnaby. Poppy Playtime has achieved immense popularity among young fans of the survival horror genre, and audiences can now get a first look at what will be coming in the next big chapter of the beloved game.
First released in 2021, Poppy Playtime sees players taking on the role of a former employee of the Playtime Co. Toy factory who has been mysteriously called back to the abandoned manufacturing facility following the disappearance of workers. The episodic horror game last released Chapter 3 in January 2024, and early predictions for Chapter 4 of Poppy Playtime have been ramping up in recent weeks. The latest trailer for Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 has revealed a brand-new enemy named Yarnaby, who will be the newest entity to terrify players. Fans were treated to a slight teaser for the new Poppy Playtime enemy courtesy of an interview with Mob Entertainment CEO Zach Belanger back in April. At the time, Belanger noted that the Chapter 4 enemy was one of the most exciting to develop, particularly due to its blend of material choice, animation style, and true-to-form "toy monster" design. Now with the newest Chapter 4 trailer, audiences can see that Belanger was perfectly describing Yarnaby, the adorably horrifying enemy coming soon to Poppy Playtime.

The colorful new character sports a lion-like mane of rainbow yarn, surrounding an unassuming face with big round eyes and a slightly toothy smile. Just as many may begin to raise an eyebrow at the surprisingly cute enemy, Yarnaby shockingly splits its face in half to reveal a double maw of grotesque flesh and razor-sharp fangs. Fully embodying the "toy monster" description while sporting a crafty yarn material look and unsettling skull-breaking animation, Yarnaby looks more than ready to join the horrifying lineup of enemies in the Poppy Playtime game franchise.
Cute characters continue to captivate fans of survival horror video games, with titles like Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion, My Friendly Neighborhood, and Poppy Playtime serving as key examples of the phenomenon.
