Honey Lemon Soda has been airing since January 9 in Japan and on Crunchyroll. The streaming service will debut the dubbed version today — January 22, 2025. As usual, only the first episode will be released for now, and then the dub will get a weekly schedule, a few weeks behind the calendar of the subbed version.

The Cast of the English Dub Version

Crunchyroll has unveiled the cast of the English dub. Monica Flatley (Joka in The Apothecary Diaries) is cast as Uka Ishimori, while Chris Hackney (F. Scott Fitzgerald in Bungo Stray Dogs) is voicing Kai.

As for the crew, Shawn Gann (Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian) is credited as the voice director, and Susie Nixon is the producer. Matthew Greenbaum is adapting the scripts to English. Neal Malley is mixing the audio and August Cine is credited as engineer (sound engineer, presumably).

Fan Reception of Honey Lemon Soda

Shoujo anime generally have a modest budget when compared to hyped shounen anime, but so far, comments about Honey Lemon Soda on social platforms have been generally positive.

The production has delivered a decent animation, with a great soundtrack — and this type of story doesn't usually need a massive budget to work fine. Hiroshi Nishikiori (A Certain Magical Index) seems to know what he's doing with this series.
