Quickly turning into a major franchise, the series' immensely popular toy line benefitted greatly from the titanic mechas in the show. The Megazords form from the combined efforts of a team of Zords, transforming into giant, robot warriors in the process. Typically topped off with a signature sword, the Megazords have frequently come in handy when dealing with titanic, monstrous foes.

  • Initial appearance: Changing of the Zords, Part 1
  • Latest appearance: Hogday Afternoon, Part 1

This powerhouse combination of the Shogunzords impressed viewers when it showed up on the beloved Mighty Morphin series. Slow but strong, the Shogun Megazord relies on thick, powerful armor to render it relatively invulnerable.

Initially brought in under Lord Zedd's command, the once long-lost Shogunzords eventually come in handy for the heroic, titular Power Rangers as well. The Shogun’s primary weapon is the devastating Fire Saber. The weapon decimates foes with its infernal strikes, taking them out with fire. With a distinctive, samurai-themed design and its slow, strong movements, the Shogun is a threatening, visually distinctive Megazord.

4 Thunder Megazord

A Devastating Saber Was The Cherry on Top of This Overpowered Megazord.

  • Series: Mighty Morphin 2
  • Initial appearance: The Mutiny, Part II
  • Latest appearance: Ninja Quest, Part I

This intimidating war machine comes together through the fusion of the Thunderzords. Considering the Thunderzords’ superior strength compared to the Dinozords, it is hardly surprising that the Thunder Megazord can do so much damage.

The Thunder Megazord’s devastating sword, the Thunder Saber, can topple monstrous foes with one fatal blow. Even more impressively, the sword was not safe to use for anything beyond the Megazord itself, with it being able to cause explosive damage to any foe who manages to get their hands on it. Sporting a drill in its tail, missiles in its fingertips, and able to combine with a variety of other Zords to create new modes, the Dragonzord is a multi-faceted machine. Worryingly, it is possible for the Dragonzord to fall into evil hands, with several villains having managed to get control of it in the past, making it as much a danger to the Power Rangers themselves as anyone else when left unchecked.
